Honestly, I'd rather Tom Hall made a kickstarter to get the Commander Keen rights back and to make the final installment. But that's not going to be easy. I know he wants to do it, but the character is currently in legal limbo. Nobody knows who really owns the rights.

Commander Keen has been killed by a lawyer.

Who owns it?

Also, turns out, no, My PS2 did not come with memory cards. I talked to the guy that sold it to me though and said I could have some of his memory cards since he did not need them anymore. Nice guy.

Before I learned that though I actually tried using some PS1 cards found they did not work and looked up their capacity. 128k is astoundingly small, even for the PS1 era.

You know what, I was thinking of a different game, but I don't remember what. Some random company, through a series of buyouts happened to acquire the license, and it was like a construction company or a floor tile manufacturer, something random and not at all related to gaming, they just happened to acquire it, and as such nobody can use the license or whatever. But I just looked it up and it's owned by EA, so it's not SS2.

As Spector had mentioned, an insurance company got the rights to System Shock after Looking Glass Studios shut down. I tracked down the insurer, Star Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Michigan-based Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Inc., and confirmed that the rights are available for sale.
Was kind of excited then:

It sounds to me like Meadowbrook wants a game company to share sales revenue, but Borkowski wouldn't talk about financial details. He did say that there have been inquiries about the rights, but elaborated no further.

UGH

Edit: basically its sounds like an insurance company poisoning the well they are trying to sell.

They (being the original developers) should do what Monolith did was going to do with FEAR and just call it something different but be an actual continuation of the story.

but who would actually make it? give it to warren spector and it'll be MICKEY SHOCK, give it to ken levine and it'll just be another high school-level political theory essay. i'm not really able to name anyone in the industry capable of doing system shock again, particularly the guys that got lucky once with it.

you know the industry is bad when you can probably honestly give him credit for what he didn't do, and that was fucking up anachronox. if that's the sort of game that's OK on his watch, then he's probably one of the good ones.
i don't understand what you mean this is a confusing post

Sadly you must have preordered the game to get that option. though i think you also get it if you got the first copies of the game that came out? idk. might be(hopefully free) dlc later.
And yes game is great, got tried of customizing my guys after i lost all the ones i started with... though i do have a guy i pick up off a mission very early in the game that just won't die(but has kill one civilian and one team member thanks to wildy inaccurate rockets... seriously one went like 45 degrees of course, that pissed me off).

I just noticed we are on 343 guilty spark page.

I've decided to play the original Driver and MechAssault 2 while I wait to get those memory cards.

Mugen Souls It's OK. A lot a lot going for it in gameplay but as you can guess the story blows at the moment and it could get repetitive fast.

I finished MechAssault 2 and looked up stuff about the F2P game MechWarrior: Online. And learned that Battletech fans do not like MechAssault one bit. Seems MechAssault did poor research on story elements and technical elements of the battletech mechs themselves.

Fun games though.

Moving on to Driver 1.
