It works p. well on my 3 year old laptop outputting to a 1080p panel on full, that's this console generation limiting your visuals. For some reason I can't bring myself to buy it. I played the demo but it just felt empty compared to XCOM: UFO Defence. I'll give it another go come Steam sale for sure. I'm more than happy to keep playing the 1993 version.

I've just completed Dishonored and I am of the opinion that it's this year's Deus Ex:HR equivalent wad of entertainment. It's also everything that I wanted the original Assassin's Creed to be but that turned out to be boring and a waste of plastic. I feel sad now because I've completed it too quickly and I wish it was longer. It was a decent length for a game (I took 17 hours) and it was reasonably priced (£25 delivered, code redeemed after a quick install from DVD on Steam) and there is so much fun to be had:

I've also almost completed Black Mesa (Turned on both reactors of Lambda core then got distracted by Dishonored). That's a lot better than expected so if you have enough time left over from the gaming monsoon then it's worth a look.

The demo is crap, it can really be ignored unless you use the demo editor to change your characters and enemies... even then that only effects the second battle so you have to go through the first one(thankfully you can turn tutorials off in the full game, you lose out on a free leveled up character, but they are a waste of time.). The actual game is a lot more fun, but even as some one who never beat UFO Defense, I'd say if you can still get enjoyment out of that, it probably is the better option.

I just set up Shenmue. I've never played it before. It's obviously extremely stilted, and judging by the first 20 minutes possibly quite boring in that really bland way games based on interaction can sometimes be. I'm gonna play a bunch more of it, though. It could get good.

Shenmue is sort of great and awful at the same time.  Like, it's definitely dated and the controls are godawful but...it's still got something to it.  It's somehow still compelling.  To be fair though I didn't finish it, so I guess for me it wasn't compelling enough.  99% of my problems were with the controls though.  In a game that's mostly walking around interacting with people you can't have such a bad system for walking around.

it's one of those games like the original final fantasy that was very important, but not very good to play now

Shenmue is one of those games that isn't really that good, but you won't regret playing it. If you let yourself get immersed in the world in can be pretty cool.
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?

I'm already beginning to enjoy it. First, I went around the town racially profiling the chinese, and now I'm on a midnight sailor hunt down at the local jazz bar. That's where the sailors like to kick back, according to absolutely everyone in town. I'm the only one who didn't know. I feel like a square.

Have had Guild Wars 2 gathering dust until my mmo phase kicked back in.

Started playing it over the last week. Nothing special but with no monthly subscription it will do until I come to my senses.

Today I'm wondering how you can have a decent gaming PC and it still not be able to play GTAIV really well.

Blacklight: Retribution. F2P FPS. Very good. Very fun. My shitty old PC doesn't handle so great though. Min settings almost across the board.

Me + my girlfriend are about to start the same theme park level on RCT at the same time and compete. This could make or break the relationship.

Edit: She kicked my ass. Double company value, no loan and 200 more park rating at the end of Forest Frontiers.

Edit2: We're doing bumbly beach later (the park) so TIPS and SUGGESTIONS before I go cry in a corner

did you set up shenmue on a dreamcast emulator? i have a rom of d2 somewhere but could never really figure out how to use one.
i always meant to play it just like i always meant to playthrough the psx final fantasy games just for the stupid byzantine sidequest things (straw wig / gold wig / "stars wig" +3 mana and unlock ultimate busters) but i know i'll never have time for it, like reading the bible or finnegans wake or something, all these really enticing black holes to fall down and die in forever, i guess sometimes it's enough that they exist to hold out The Promise Of A Better Life. "i still dream of orgonon..."
did you play TAPE DREAM by saltw's own gargonherd, it's maybe similar in taking place in this kind of nebulously interactive 3d space and grinding up against mystery systems altho more condensed http://www.freeindiegam.es/2012/03/tape-dream-gargonherd/

games i playe: some snes rom called "nitro punk" (or "rocky rodent" [PAL] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Rodent)where you play an excited looking rat who gets a brutal pink mohawk by collecting spraycans left by a bugeyed black guy which he can use to kill rats as well as stick to overhead girders, suprisingly fun, v good and melancholy brown city parallax backdrop. trapped in the chris ware dimension.

hotline miami is out to-day and is really exceptionally good

yeah i got a dreamcast emulator set up. d2 is next on my list, ya doof! it is kind of hard on my laptop but it basically plays perfectly, with a few tweaks to the settings which i can give you in pm if you are actually trying to get shemue set up.
