It turns out my house has some kind of gas leak in the central heating boiler. It's turned off now and uh apparantly wasn't a BIG THING in the sense that we didn't all die or blow up the house by turning on a lightswitch but I'm still kind of freaked about it. BRIAN DAMAGE idk don't expect my possibly reasonable paranoia to make sense at all but I've got all the windows open on a fairly cold day because I'm suddenly very conscious about air!!

yo my sister has had a gas leak in her apartment for over a year now and she's still ok I guess. it's not sealed up tight but there's still a strong tangy gas smell when you walk in the room and wafting down the hallway a little.

You'll likely be denied at first because every state is doing that(low fundzzzz), but if you look at your state's misconduct law you'll see that you usually have to be fired for something outrageous in order to be disqualified for unemployment benefits. Continue claiming every week if you get denied and file for an appeals hearing, once that comes around just honestly explain to the judge your situation and you'll likely win(and get back pay for the previous weeks you've claimed). Lately I've been doing a lot of organizing and outreach to unemployed/fired/evicted/etc folks in my area and you might be able to find some kind of volunteer attorney service for unemployment cases in your city if you sniff around a bit(try googleing around for community law centers)
