I must say this game looks and sounds promising.  I really feel you used the FF sprites and such perfectly and even created your own.  The use of mode7 amazes me.  My only opinion would be to drop Final Fantasy from  your title.  Your game is strong enough to stand on its own with out the FF bandwagon, and honestly would be seen by many to be a stronger title without the FF.   Either way though, I can't wait for a demo.

EDIT:  I read further in and saw where you wrote about wanting a fangame and such.  That justifies the use of the FF name, but stilll think your game is powerful enough to drop it.

My friend is making an original game and I'm helping him. It's good enough =) Thanks though.

It's hard to have sprites that small with more than 2 animations =P. Otherwise it looks really really strange... I would be going for a The After Years/FFVI style sprite, but.. takes a lot of time.

You won't need to know anything about it. It's just like any other RPG really...but each game has it's own "flair"... and a mention of a crystal. FF2 and 8 don't though. Oh and the use of FF music (FFXIII failed to... um... acquire this.)

Even if XIII didn't acquire it, I still love the music that it has (especially the three final boss themes and the regular battle theme).

Anyway, I just love the look of this game, Lil Vivi. I could care less that it is a fangame or whatnot; go and do what you want, as it is yourself that you will need to please the most in the long run. Not that many people take an interest to my games anymore, but I still churn them out because it is just so fun.

The style you have going, as well as the music that you have showed us and given us a sample of all looks and sounds great. I will definitely try this when you're able to release a demo!

Other than that... that is about all I can say! I just wish you the best of luck with this, and hope that you are able to complete the game in the future.

I thought your spriter was up to that task of doing that.... Anyway, most people seem to like what you have... It does seem nice and I look forward to seeing your progress.

I also thought RMXP messed up chipsets from RM2k3 or Rm2k. Most of the time the chipsets in RMXP games that use Rm2k3 chipsets look stretched and pixellated...

I'm just gonna say this.

Take a 16x16 tile. Now, add 16 to both 16s. What do you get? 32. What is the size of RMXP tiles? 32. That's right. Half of 32 is 16. All I did was double the size. Nothing hard to do really...

Battle Theme update! I cut it in segments... it doesn't sound complete when I do that XD But it sounds REALLY nice in full. Wait to hear the full version when the demo is (if ever) released.

You BETTER release something after all the buildup! J/K, It seems good. I find the beginning bass part a tad hard ot hear on my lappy, but oh we well. Btw, been experimenting with some PROPER transitions in Gimp-I'll pass a few along.

I really didn't know it was that simple... I never use RMXP, Rm2k3 is all I ever need.

Lol it's fine. It's really easy... just takes reformating. But RMXP is A LOT better than 2k3. I use to be an RMXP hater and use to say that 2k3 was all I need... but you can really make games of your dreams with XP.

I'd been going to offer something- any chance if I whistle it you and Shizu might take a listen to the recording and see if you can use the tune?

Actually working on a midi right now. It started out as an alternate battle theme but one version is morphing into a  "Sneaking around" theme with a slight spy-movie feel. I'll send it to you soon!
