I know that much, just wondering why it took them that many before deciding, yeah lets go to the manga, i mean bleach didn't take that long, plus it was a better filler (worth watching once, no more) still in the end, thank god its over.
They weren't deciding if they are going with the manga or not, I'm sure they were always going to go with the manga. They just wanted to create a considerable gap between the manga and the anime. It's pretty close to the amount of chapters which were out when Naruto initially started, over 100. Considering how they have paced things before (using flashbacks, prolonging battles and so on), I'd say that this is pretty accurate:
Naruto can go on for ~75 episodes without fillers.
Bleach can go on for ~25 episodes without fillers.
I'm pretty sure Bleach will have fillers after the current arc finishes. Naruto should have at least 3 arcs before having fillers again. Unless they do what I hope they will and have one or two short filler arcs after every major arc so that there won't be second time with nearly 100 consecutive fillers.
I'm going to laugh hard when the fillers start again.
Also, the animation doesn't look too good. : /
Naruto's animation has only been top-notch in a few episodes. The animation looks pretty much what Naruto's standard canon has always looked like and I'm fine with it.
And Shikamaru has a big role in one of the arcs.
