A week later and Mein Penis is still my avatar.
It's starting to get cold and I love cold weather.
Started ANOTHER new job and it's going good.
I have one last final to toil through.

And uh, that's it for now.

I'm doing one track on my work days and at least 3 tracks a day on my days off. Is that a lot? I found a multi-track recorder plugin in the software I use, so I don't have to sit and wait for every individual track to record now. I knew about it before but it didn't work right with 32-bit recording, so I tried 24-bit instead and it works fine. But yeah that saves me like nearly an hour per track. I could maybe even do 4 or 5 tracks on my days off but I'm not a machine

one of my parents passed away today.
if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't have liked video games.
Earliest memory was watching him torment himself playing Zelda II.
I remember spending weekend evenings when they were off of work playing that game nonstop.
And he would bring a random big box dos game home every now and then when we first had our Packard Bell family PC.

Anyways, he is indirectly responsible for me finding out about this website because he made me interested enough in computers and the internet to learn everything I could about them.

The last game we were able to play together was Fallout 76. It was a horrible shitty mess of a game. But my sibling and my parent had a good time playing through a bit of it. We never got around to finishing it because it became too shitty to tolerate. They also loved Civilization and would often borrow my Switch to play Civ 6 on it.

I guess moral of the story is people dying really sucks.

I'm sorry to here that man. It never gets easy. But while it may be easy to get lost grieving that they're gone, we musn't let that take away from celebrating that they were here.

I am thankful that I was able to move near them and spend the last few months around them. Nice to have a little bit more time.

That is definitely to be thankful for. Too many people don't get that chance =/. But yeah we're here to talk and get your mind off things if you need someone. That's one of the good things about having this place back, not just for nerding out, but we once again have a place we can share our struggles and have people we know that care and will listen.

yeah that's always good, I was able to see my grandma and grandpa a lot before they passed away, my grandpa especially, we went to all the Goodwills and tag sales and stuff. I was looking for synths and stuff on a shoestring budget. Which didn't really work out but I ripped a bunch of toy sounds out of necessity

New job is going good, should have a new house pretty soon here. And baby #3 is on the way soon too.

And then maybe I'll have some time to work on GamingW / Gamedev some more.

New job, new house, new baby, I'm looking forward to seeing your GW/game dev work in no less than 10 years from now. :domo:

I don't know if it's just a "me thing" or not but the log in and especially the registration on this forum seems to be defunct.

Wouldn't let me log in to my old account or register a new one, got some html error message everytime I tried to open up the password retrieval or make a new account.

I'm ASSUMING it has something to do with the page not being compatible with mobile net devices or applications because it was like THE ONE WORD I fuckin' understood out of any of it.

Got lucky and managed to remember the password off of my original account otherwise I wouldn't be able to once again grace you all with my bullshit.

this is a pretty decent RPG demo, nothing special but nice graphic style and gets the job done while it lasts

suffers a little bit from extra party member bloat near the end, though. I didn't even try out the monk guy

Edit: oh yeah, the sword on the roof is such an oldschool rpg thing to do, literally makes no sense in real life but cool in the context of a game

i dig the style of it, will have to give it a try eventually.

i've been gaming mostly on my steam deck these days and kind of wish that I bought one sooner because it's a super convenient little device.

yeah unfortunately the game kind of doesn't end but there are unfinished parts as the game goes on, so you don't really know when to stop playing. But basically until you get the ship that can sail over deep water, the game is intact.

It's a little annoying though how some areas have virtually no enemies that drop gold, while others practically all the enemies do, like in the pyramid. Basically any humanoid enemy that you can imagine carrying gold, does, while the more animal-like enemies don't, just give you experience

if you had to choose one way to listen to music, which format would you pick? (tape, streaming, cd, MP3, etc.)

i'm thinking about getting into collecting music but cannot decide which media format is worth it.
Streaming is obviously the most convenient one, but I would like to actually own music. And I feel that MP3 is kind of cheating even if they don't have DRM locking them down.

I like that tapes are portable, but I can't remember if the sound quality is poor because it's been so long since I've listened to a tape.
CDs are nice but they are a pain to lug around if you're walking somewhere and from what I remember they tend to skip when listening on a portable player.
vinyl seems fun but not really portable.

maybe I should just get an mp3 player.

I download FLACs from Bandcamp, but that's because I have a nice soundcard and speakers that I can only use with my laptop. I have CDs but they're from a long time ago

feeling like 23 years is long enough to wait to post--or maybe posts of a certain age simply don't exist anymore... don't remember

actually I do get some CDs when they don't sell on Bandcamp. Like I am getting the new Osamu Sato CD. Also Future Sound of London has some albums (annoyingly) only available as CD

I'm still on Winamp after all these years.
