Man Im so pissed they put Ike instead of Chrono from Chrono Trigger.. I mean wtf Chrono was made by the DREAM TEAM,he needs more cameos people!

Agreed. Chrono and some RE Character would be bomb (after all, it was "Nintendo Exclusive" for a few years).

But as long as Fox and Link are in, I'm a happy guy.

Pretty sure that's been what was said anyhow. :S
I agree, it has nothing to do with the past games.
Fans of the more wild, random levels shouldn't be offended by levels being banned from tourney play. Serious players most likely play those levels for fun too.

The stages on the dojo right now are probably only a quarter of the stages in Brawl, so it's no surprise that all (most) fall under the category of "too random for tourney play."
Agh, again, no one is saying YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO BAN STAGES, it's the fact the tourneys seemed to be MAD they added the stage AT ALL because they won't be able to use it. Tourneys are fine. Banning stages is fine. Saying MAN THAT ONE SHOULDNT BE T HERE AT ALL GRR >_M< is not.

Also those fish are from Balloon Fight.

I dunno, it looks like it starts off as a normal full ground stage then turns into a Zebes stage later on. Maybe you can even knock that polar bear off to stop it sinking? I like it.

It kinda looks like the fish from SMB3.  But not quite.  It may just be a new concept, which borrowed heavily from SMB3.

I think it's awesome, anyway.  That fish freaked the hell out of me when I was little.

It just seems like one of those levels where everything disappears, and instead of enjoying yourself, you're more in the panic stage of just trying to stay afloat. But there you go.

It's all three. First it's a regular solid map, then a moving fall-off-and-probably-wont-get-back-on one, then a Zebes one.

I like the stage. The only thing I don't really like is how the platforms are implemented.

Man, I SWEAR they made this game for the purpose of being fun.......

I know the reason I go to tournaments is because I don't know how to have fun. Jojoface...will...will you teach me how to have fun so I can be cool like you? Please? I'm just so bored...

The IC stage...looks meh. It's like Zebes, which is probably my least favorite stage in any of the smash games. It's visually pleasing though, so at least it has that.

Oh, and supposedly Brawl will be the first Wii game to take up both sides of the disc. If I remember correctly, that means it'll be close to 8.5 gig, which is insane considering  Melee was around 1.5. Brawl is going to be huge.

hahaha wow.

everyone is stupid.

okay yes tournaments can be fun, we have them on gw and shit for other stuff but the second you start TRAINING and getting CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP you seriously should reevaluate your life of beating up pikachus for money. no one is talking about a campus tournament where you see something and say "oh cool, lemme try", I'm talking the faggots who seriously debate the merits of ZAMUS WAVESPLASH DIVE FOLLOWED BY UP-B. we had the dude who in the top ten on the Eastern Seaboard for SSB in my building last year and I made so much fun of him because he was utterly pathetic in everything but Smash because he was....prof. gamer...

Resume Experience:

Super Smash Brothers Tournament Winner- 2004-2005
-Learned about the random number generator that accompanies the randomized Pokeballs in order to best win against Mario.
-Trained for weeks on end, studying opponent's strategies instead of learning an actual skill set or developing social interaction with anyone who doesn't know what wavedashing is.
-Won virtual trophies.

it's also good how many people say STOP TALKING ABOUT TOURNAMENTS and then continued talking about it anyways.

this is the weakest burn in the world dude why would you even post this.

sorry Jester I don't see how PROFESSIONAL GAMER is better than...christ I'm trying to think of a job I could demean as much as professional gamer. maybe lab test subject? or selling drawings of underage children to pedophiles on the internet?

have some dignity. these people who are like "well...the professional circuit matters...because they sustain themselves..." no they don't (matter, that is)! the only people that matter are the people who buy the game en masse (you posters, basically), not fuckwits who think they have some degree of respectability because they can mash a button faster than someone else. the fact that professional gaming even exists is hilarious in itself, and now that there are people who are like "ah yes...teh fragdollzorz...so cute", it's even funnier.

and it's not like we're talking people playing something that requires more knowledge like Starcraft might or a complex moveset like Street Fighter. it's SMASHBROTHERS. it's fun because it's twitchy gameplay where you hit each other and shit is wild, not because of the complex wavedashing movesets and shit so boring a technical manual might covet.

basically who cares about assholes that saw Mario punching Pikachu and thought "you know, I think this is a serious thing, let's be prof. gamers" because they are not exactly the best people to care about when it comes to anything! going to tournaments is fine because competition can be fun and all, but I think we all know the difference between Raziel who just has a gay little habit and goes to the occasional one or plays online and someone who goes to all these things and has corporate sponsors giving him money so he can punch videogame characters.

tournament gamers are the Paris Hiltons of the industry.

:words:
Gaming has become a professional job now, with companies actually willing to pay people to get their product out there in massive tournaments, and sure that wasn't the way it was back then, I understand that, but you have to be willing to accept that times are changing and gaming is becoming more "out there" to the point where Nintendo's "demographic" is no longer "kids with a couple of adult games" its "casual gamers". A lot of people between the ages of 5 to 50 up now are playing games of some kind, and tournaments are becoming thousands upon thousands of dollar deals that with sponsorships (hell, they played a couple tournaments on TV over here) and shit makes it easy to live off of.

Granted, we are behind other nations as per usual (Korea has a channel dedicated to StarCraft where all they play is StarCraft matches and tournaments 24/7), but we're catching up to something like that, and I don't know whether its the fact that you think people mastering a game is lame and dumb (yeah who masters something they like lol), or if you just haven't realized that times are changing.

actually Smash requires a good deal of knowledge at the tournament level you're just kind of blinded by the fact that you still see it as a RANDOM PARTY GAMES to see that. And I've seen you say "complex moveset" like Street Fighter....since when was Down Forward+ Button, Down Back+ Button, Forward Down Forward+ Button, or watch out Down Forward Down Forward + Button or Down Back Down Back + Button complex? The complexity of Street Fighter has pretty much always been corner traps and controlling the field not complex movesets.
