The DS can connect wirelessly to the Wii.  It does that with Pokémon Battle Revolution.

Looks like the icon theory is gone. Too bad I guess, an Animal Crossing character would've been cool.

I do like the DS stage, for what it's worth. Probably won't use it much tho, I don't really go for the "random death" type stages.

Of course.

It seems to be more like a Pokefloats kind of stage, with more random elements. It looks pretty fun to me.

That's what I was thinking. At first I thought you might be able to make custom levels with your DS. That would be pretty cool.

What kind of lame update was today's?  Or was this a prview for Donky Kong Country Wii that slipped into the dojo?

It was a neat video. I think we've already seen it somwehre though? Right? I swear I saw another version that had 1P DONKEY KONG and 2P DIDDY KONG labels when the screen froze.

It leaves me wondering about the partner mode for the Subspace Emissary. It seems like preset combinations (DK and Diddy, Mario and Luigi, Link and Zelda, etc) will have cool introduction videos, but what about other combinations? If me and a friend play with Samus and Lucas, will there be an introduction video for that, too?

Or would it be some generic clips for the individual characters. Would the game developers make a different badass intro video for every possible combination?

I'd prefer updates like these be saved for the game.

It appears to be rendered in-game so it wouldn't be that far-fetched.

Um, actually no. They've already announced that you don't choose characters really going into to the 1P mode. For example: In the begining you choose either Mario or Kirby and fight against whoever you didn't choose. Then, as that person, you fight Petey Pirhanna and save, by breaking the container, either Peach of Zelda. Then you're a 2 person team fighting as you get blown off of the Halberd. Then, you're Pit, who later meets up with whoever you DIDN'T pick in the very beginning. You have limited choices in the beginning but later and later in you get to build up you're 2-player teams differently every time. You can choose to be Pit or, say, Kirby if you picked Mario originally! And the second player is helping you. If it's a friend, they help you, and if they fall behind they get 'sped up' to the screen.

Also yeah we have seen this video plus more content from that level.

Yes CheesyDoritos but I also thought that after you've beaten the first game you'd have unlocked all the characters and can play as whoever you want from the beginning.

Hmm... That'd definitely be a cool option, but that'd be a TON of animations! Also it wouldn't make much sense for, say, Meta Knight and Wario to be jumping out of the forest following a truck filled with bananas.

Which is why I was thinking they might do separate animations for each team. Like Meta Knight and Wario would have Wario riding in his motorcycle in the desert and the Halberd lands in front of him and then they rush into the distance together or something.

Anyway- I'm glad that Break the Targets is confirmed. And with multiple stages for each character- nice.

Replays is a cool bonus.

I love break the targets, but it's kinda depressing that there are only 5 stages now, as opposed to each character having their own. I guess that would be hard to do with 40 characters though.

It also looks like the Dojo is gonna start losing some momentum. It makes total sense that they wouldn't give an OMG EPIC update while E for All is going on/just happened, cause then we'd be thinking 'wtf, why wasn't that at e for all?'

I admit though, I'm starting to worry about Captain Falcon.
Whenever the next OMG EPIC update comes, it'll be that much more OMG EPIC, since we've had weeks of crappiness.

Oh shit that sucks. You're right- I read it as being five different maps PER character.

I kind of wonder how deep the whole "replay" mechanic will be, whether it's just a video of the match or a segment of it or if you can actually stop it, rotate and things like that or take snapshots of "glorious" moments to send to other Wii owners.  Though unlike Metroid Prime 3, they need to have it where you can send pics to your email as well.  Such a disappointing thing in Metroid as I had some jawesome shots of some areas I really wanted to post beyond just my friends.

"If you wait a bit, terrain gets drawn in with a few stylus strokes!"

Sounds like you can draw the stage with the DS.
