I'm actually more worried about the controls with the Wii-mote. And I hope it doesn't mean just even bothering to buy a GC controller.

I find it really disappointing that nobody cares about the Moonlit Shadow soundtrack, half of which was written by Mitsuda.  It's the most amazing video game soundtrack ever.  It breaks all sorts of video game soundtrack boundaries and is full of awesome, virtuosic performances.  But, Moonlit Shadow is neither jRPG or an NES game, so that might explain why nobody cares about the music.

I wonder what the liklihood is that none of these composers suggest anything whatsoever about the character list.  Maybe they just all wanted to contribute their remixes of famous classic tunes from games they never had anything to do with, and none of them are even being paid!

Chris Kohler has basically suggested that's exactly what's going on. It seems a lot more likely than, say, them including Crono in a Super Smash Brothers game. Especially when we already know there are only going to be like two or three non-Nintendo characters aside from Snake.

I'm still holding out hopes for Geno, though. Even though I think Square holds the rights to him.
