Is anyone going to be playing this on PS3?

Seriously man, once I get this I won't have anyone to play!

I will be if I can find a store where the damn game isn't sold out at. Yeesh.

What exactly needs explaining? PC games aren't as expensive as 360/PS3 games.

Why would you pirate this game? If I had a choice, this is the one game I wouldn't do it for... I've been waiting years for this title and I am willing to spend the $80 something bucks for the limited edition... Plus you'll be able to play online.

Unless you're poor as fuck, then I suggest you buy the game

I completely agree. Anyone who is really passionate about Street Fighter or just looking forward to this game immensely should buy the game. The amount of play time most people will get out of the game should do more than justify the price.

are these both fake posts or what.

also most reviews from people who do not care about this shit (ie pretty much everyone else) says its basically the same game. thanks for this capcom. and thanks this thread for rewarding them for never changing anything. monopolo 2, december 09.

They're as real as the hefty cheque given to you by GW, bucko.

And I managed to take out Seth on Medium skill with Ryu. The 1st round he's really easy. But then when you beat him once, he starts to use moves by Bison, Chun-li, Zangief and his own powers. Plus he already uses Ken's, Guile's and Dhalsihm's from what I can see. Unlocked a few chars right now... I'm probably gonna watch the anime movie that comes with the game now though. Hope its good...

do you really think you, one consumer, buying one game, affects a corporation like capcom at all. every single member of gw could pirate this game and then give a copy to their friend and capcom would not be affected at all.

This is one of my primary concerns. I fear that the fun novelty of sitting infront of my tv with a arcade stick is the only reason Im even considering it. I have a nice little tv unit space where I can rest a joystick and kind of mimic the feel of being in an arcade... Not to mention paying a subscription fee just to play a game I already own and the delightful Xbox live community.

I have a similar loadout on my computer, maybe I should just get a PC arcade stick and just play street fighter 3 online instead.   :fogetshrug:

While I'm on the subject, can anyone recommend a good arcade stick that isn't some kind of stupid promotional brick with official art plastered all over the casing?

. Is Street Fighter IV the best version? Absolutely. But once fans have relived their virtual-martial-arts glory days; once they’ve defeated Seth, the poorly named final boss; once the patina of nostalgia has worn off, most will wonder whether they needed to spend $60 on a game they already own.

so if you didn't already buy it maybe rent first as you are probably not part of the absolutely insane fighting game audience.

Might sound crazy but this is what most people have wanted for forever. All the new fighting games that are being made, bar maybe the Virtua Fighter series, have been so retarded and full of bullshit mechanics that normal people just can't play them anymore. As a result the fighting game community has died out totally. Every fighter ever made since '98 has been aimed at hardcore audiences.

I see what you mean since this game is pretty much SF2 with 3D graphics and some new characters, but that's pretty much the game everyone has wanted for years. However, not because hey I cant wait to play Ryu and Ken again for the thousandt time but because it is a simple fighting game that people can pick up and play and have fun right off the bat with, which hasnt been true for any fighting game since '98. The way the game plays is fun and the mechanics work. The game has 6 buttons, a move list of about 3-5 moves per character and no fancy subsystems you need to learn to play. If you want new stuff why not look at Tatsunoko vs Capcom that features 100ft jumps, giant robots, about 10 meters/gauges per player cluttering the screen, and 100hit combos.

do you really think you, one consumer, buying one game, affects a corporation like capcom at all. every single member of gw could pirate this game and then give a copy to their friend and capcom would not be affected at all.
Ya I want more street fighter games so therefore i'll buy them instead of pirate them. I'm doing my part to get them to make an SFV sometime ever, now all you need is for the other 1,000,000 people to do that as well.

Also Nightblade, the SF4 MadCatz fightsticks are good. Well mine hasnt arrived yet but from what I hear they are genuinely good. The regular one for $80ish seems like one of the best sticks you'll get for that money right now.

how many iterations of II and Alpha etc were there before they finally made 3? it was ten years since sf3 and they made 4. capcom has a bizarre fucking business model where I'm pretty sure if SF4 ends up being a monster hit that crosses audiences blah blah Capcom is way more likely to create a bunch of spinoff series before SF5.

edit: I'm just saying don't hate on someone like Grindie who will probably buy the game or one of the no doubt coming spinoffs anyways for pirating it and don't hate on anyone who probably wouldn't buy the game for pirating it. like this is the same argument as music piracy; not only are we dealing with numbers where the piracy won't matter with something where the original non-pirated is worth having, but the people who pirate it aren't any more or less likely to buy it.

Yah Capcom are going to run this into the ground. But i'd rather have that and get some good games out of it than have uh NOTHING AT ALL happening in the fighting game genre.

I didn't buy it. Believe it or not I'm reluctant to pay

60$ Game
80$ Joystick
30$ Xbox Live
_______________
170$

For something that I may end up being bored with in two weeks. I made the same mistake last year, buying GTA4 and a 360. Sure I enjoyed the game, but after I beat it I'm left with a white brick I barely play; because most of the games I'm interested on the system have a (at times superior) PC port.

My brother got the game for valentines day, so maybe he'll bring it over next time he's here; but that does little to quell any staying power fears.

As far as the whole same game debate, I'm not entirely sure what else can even be done with the fighting genre.

If I were you i'd buy an arcade stick that fits for both 360 and PC, pirate it, and maybe buy the PC version later on. It'll be like $40 and have free online, and if you pirated it you won't get raped by everyone online.

You can do a lot with the fighting game genre. Unfortunely most developers seem to be mostly focused on 30 second long combos and seeing how far they can go with 2D sprites.

Awesome game, I played it for an hour and a half (after I went on an adventure through a snowstorm that lasted four hours just to get the game). I'm having a bit of trouble pulling off certain combos in the challenge mode though. It's clear that this game was made to be played with an arcade stick which, unfortunately, I have absolutely no intention of buying.

Well for a bit of comfort, you don't need to know those combos to get good at the game, hell it even takes Seth Killian (some super duper fighting game genious) 10 tries to beat some of them. In human matches even the best players use mostly one or two normal moves into one special, and then some flashy shit sometimes so they can land their ultras safely. So you can still kick peoples ass online with a regular 360 controller.

Well I'm PS3, so I don't have to worry about the 360 controller.

And yeah, I know how most people play. It's just irking me slightly how quick the timing has to be on some of the moves the game tells you to execute. Pretty wild.
