it's been so long since i played ssb64 i cannot remember anything from it

what stages did they carry over to melee? i dont remember any stages looking n64 shitty in ssbm
All of the ones that were specifically called N64 stages in-game. I think they were even tagged "(N64)" in-game. For all I can remember, they were identical to the N64 versions, but like you it's been a while since I played the N64 version. I assumed the Melee stages for Brawl were the same deal.

Nope, they never come up in 1-player mode.  The only difference between the N64 stages then and in melee now is their size.  I don't know the reason why, but they were all scaled up to be larger than in the classic game.

That topic got locked due to some bullshit and this one was started. Also, I am thrilled that the Temple is back in this game. It was my favorite stage in Melee. But what are the areas that differ from the last game? I'm not seeing any.

What the fuck? Where? The last one got locked because people stopped discussing the updates and started flaming each other over views about the storyline and competetive players and shit.

Also really weak update (all of them lately have been) but it's nice to know that some of the cooler stages from Melee will be returning (tournament players rejoice at the inclusion of Final Destination).

Yay Final Destination! Seriously though, that's the worst tourney stage, aside from Fountain of Dreams. Actually, FoD is probably better.

I still want to see the Hyrule Castle stage come back from the original game.

Fuck yes. That stage kicked so much ass. I don't see why they didn't include it in Melee. Hopefully it'll be in Brawl, as well as Saffron City. That stage was pretty cool too.

They could pretty easily include all of the stages from SSB64 and SSBM without taking up too much memory if I'm not mistaken (they're doing that dual-disc thing anyways, so they have like...8 GB to work with, right?). Sure it's a bit more work, but damn would it be cool.

Yeah, I was wondering why they included pretty shit stages like Yoshi's Story when they could have added those stages. Especially Saffron City, that was always my favorite stage on that game.

It's like they brought back all the ones they didn't need to, and left out all the ones that should have returned.  Dream Land is not much different than the Green Greens, Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story are similar enough, and the Kongo Jungle has a floating blast barrel just like the N64 Kongo Jungle!

I would've brought back Hyrule Castle, Saffron City, and maybe that secret Mushroom Kingdom stage.  But, I don't have a say in these things...

Have you even played in Yoshi's Story and Yoshi's Island? The stages are completely different. Just because they both have "Yoshi" in the title doesn't mean they're the same. The same goes for the DK stages. They both have barrels, but they're very different stages. That's like saying Battlefield and Fountain of Dreams are the same because they both have platforms.

Dark Necrid: What? I sense sarcasm but I can't understand what you're trying to say...

When you put it that way...yeah.  My gripe seems pretty unfounded.  I just feel like the stages they brought back were similar enough to their new-age counterparts that they could've chosen the N64 ones differently.

Good thing they're bringing back older stages. I'm relieved 'cause I thought they might get the cut.

Monday is December 3 - the day this game was supposed to be released before it got delayed right?  Maybe that calls for a big update.

That's what I was thinking. You know what would make me cream my pants? Smash Bros. 64 on VC. It'd be the most perfect thing ever. Or a Brawl demo. But yeah, the SSB64 VC would be amazing. Too bad I'm not going to be up to catch it tonight. Stupid sickness.

I think more likely they'll wait until the game is about to come out and do a month of Smash Brothers like they did for Metroid when Metroid Prime 3 came out. SSB64, a trailer for Smash, and....I dunno, something else for the fourth week.

It seemed like it would have been magical. Every first update of every other month a character was confirmed and this WAS the previous release date. What a terrible update.
