I've really enjoyed almost all of these recent updates. (By recent, I mean these past few weeks)
Awesome stuff.

The coin launcher looks pretty neat. Hopefully it will play well instead of just being some last minute mini game add on.

And Zoda!
Zoda gets a trophy this time, that's awesome.

Greatest idea ever.
Or maybe Metal Gear? Or even Ocelot.

Makes you think, doesn't it?

Ooooh yeah I'm drooling at the thought.

Awesome stuff.

Yeah same here, the recent updates have been pretty good. The coin launcher looks awesome.

Looks like a difficult item to use.  I wonder if the appearance rate of the other parts raises when one part is collected.  What are the chances of finding all three pieces if they always come separately?

They are taking a week off for updates. Straight from Dojo:

"All seven languages of Smash Bros. Dojo will take a year-end holiday break from posting following December 28. We plan to resume posts on January 7.

Have a happy new year."

Doesn't it come out on the 14th for Japan? We should be getting some really good updates once the game comes out I'd imagine. Or perhaps they'll just stop all together. Who knows.

That Dragoon item does not seem like it's practical at all unless you're doing a really long time match, 10+ stock, or only a few items (including the Dragoon) at a high rate. I hate the direction Brawl seems to be going towards at times. Makes me want to cry.

I think the game has lots of gimmicky things. If that is what Sarhan is referencing to. But I still am greatly anticipating this greatly. 43 DAYS.

I see you like to assume things. This is good. Or you could try to understand what I mean before you make a pointless "+1 post count" type of comment.

Erave on the other hand...he seems like a smart guy. He took the extra second to think before hitting the "reply" button. You should try this sometime. It makes you look smarter.

great, the correct way to respond to an insulting +1 post is to make one yourself, ya

who cares what sarhan says, i think we've all learned in the last 14 pages (and the other 60 or whatever in the last topic) to just ignore him if he says something we disagree with!

But Sarhan, the way you put it in your post, you make it sound as if the game is getting worse rather than better.  Maybe if you're more specific about what direction you think the game is taking, people will understand you better.

I love when they announce another feature that tournament-only players don't get to use because it makes them more sour than usual, and I find that funny.

I like the concept of the Dragoon item since it gives alternate motives to go after certain players. It can also become a type of psychological choice - do you try to collect the pieces of the Dragoon and end up drawing more attention to yourself and therefore more damage? Is this worth it?

The way I think it should and will work is this:  the first piece has as good a chance as any item to show up, but, once it is collected, the other pieces fall soon afterwards.  So it wouldn't take a really long match as you presume.  I think you should hold back those tears until you can actually see how all these ideas play out.

Meh...I was going to say something, but I don't want so start shit so I'll keep my mouth shut.

I love when they announce another feature that tournament-only players don't get to use because it makes them more sour than usual, and I find that funny.

Dude...I've been to four tournaments in my whole life. Although I'm better than the average player and can hold my own against tourney players, it doesn't automatically make me a tourney-only player (and assuming so is ignorant). Over 99% of the time I've spent playing Smash is with my friends, who also happen to be casual players. Just because I prefer playing one on one matches with no items doesn't mean I don't play FFAs with items on high. Most of the time I've played Smash was spent doing FFAs or teams with items.

And FYI, I love the gooey bomb, franklin badge, bumper, superspicy curry, golden hammer, the new and improved beam sword, and especially the cracker launcher. I can't wait to test these items out and it's probably the second thing I'll do right after clearing out Subspace Emissary and unlocking a few characters. What a surprise! You guys seem to have this mindset that if someone prefers to play one way, they automatically hate everything else. Don't jump to conclusions.

The way I think it should and will work is this: the first piece has as good a chance as any item to show up, but, once it is collected, the other pieces fall soon afterwards. So it wouldn't take a really long match as you presume. I think you should hold back those tears until you can actually see how all these ideas play out.

That's a great idea and I hope that you're right. My gripe was this: with how many items there are in the game, you might not even see all of the parts during a regular match which usually takes only a couple of minutes. And you are right about me holding back my tears. I should take my own advice and not jump to conclusions.

But Sarhan, the way you put it in your post, you make it sound as if the game is getting worse rather than better.  Maybe if you're more specific about what direction you think the game is taking, people will understand you better.

I never said it's getting worse but I can see how someone might come to that conclusion from what I've said. I like the direction the game is going in as a whole. I'm very satisfied with that. However, I don't like this item in particular because it doesn't seem practical unless you're doing long matches. It also influences the way people fight by focusing a players attention on collecting items rather than getting kills (and yeah, I understand you can get kills in the process). It's kind of like Powerstone (great game by the way...oh wait, that's an opinion...sorry Jester) in that sense. I understand I can just turn the item off if I want (which is why I love Smash) and I know it's a small detail, but it's still a slight annoyance and not something I'm looking forward to.

Now again, this is an opinion and from what we've learned from Jester, it should be ignored.

And guys...I'm probably the biggest fan of the Smash Bros. series and I'm willing to bet that I've easily clocked in more time with the game than most of you have (I was playing it about two hours ago at my girlfriend's house). If there's anyone that's looking forward to Brawl, it's me, but just because I love the series doesn't mean I can't be against a feature, item, or whatever else they throw in that I happen to dislike. Accepting everything doesn't show you love the game. It shows that you don't.

I don't play tournaments but I general don't play items. I feel the game gets a lot added when most distractions are taken away. Combat is more imperative and more strategy is added (in many ways, just think about it.) But if you're all into items or what not, I don't care. I don't think it's more wrong or right to play it that way. Smash is very versatile which is why ALL types of people love the game. It can be a really fun, party game, or it can be a very in depth fighter  (more than I think people usually get it credit for).

I don't get why people who play with items get all defensive when we state we don't really care to play with thousands of exploding crates and instant killing items. But it's cool because that's why they included an item switch. Makes everyone happy.

In other words. Mateui shut the fuck up with your stupid "I play the game the right way" righteousness. Later.

He may not have said it outright, but it's pretty easy to see what he meant.

Question: If you don't care about my opinion (and Erave's apparently), then why do you reply?

It's just pretty typical of the people that think like that. I dunno, it's pretty annoying. But Jester can't argue with that lad... he gets me everytime... oh man can't talk to erave how illogical :)

Obviously, not EVERYONE is gonna like EVERYTHING. I mean, if this weren't an opinion based discussion I could understand why the same 3 people keep getting upset.

I've never heard of air ride, but the item seems like something out of power stone. It was great in powerstone, <spoiler?>but I don't like the looks of it in smash.</spoiler?>

EDIT: Whoops, Sarhan already referenced to power stone.
EDIT2: Who cares what Sarhan says.
