I just saw a preview for the final episode of Zoey 101 called "Goodbye Zoey" where she permanently leaves school and that dumb guy has to say how much he loves her or whatever.

I think Nickelodeon knew about this shit before anyone else...

i havent read anything else but are you fucking kidding me?

i dont give a shit that they are watching DIFFERENT shows, but no show aimed at 5-10 girls should be about MAKEUP and BOYS and MAKEUP AND BOYS and LOOKING HOT. sorry, but no. they get enough of that shit when they are a teenager, i dont need my neice laughing around asking people to touch her ass and asking if she looks HOT or not.

granted, it doesnt all come from kids shows, shit like mtv is also to blame, but that doesn't mean it's just a case of HEY THEY DON'T WATCH THE SAME TV I DID

it isn't about the fucking shows themselves, it's about what morals and stories they offer. and modern shows don't offer any at all. even cartoons for girls in the 80s/90s were about BEING GOOD and BEING COOL and LOOKING PRETTY. not once was it alluded to that they were looking pretty for boys

agh im rambling now but im so fucking pissed off that you think me not wanting this generation's little girls turning into sluts when they are fucking 6 years old is AGH THEY DONT WATCH TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!!

maybe you should read everything else then because that wasn't the point of that comment

ps:  don't make up information to further your point, by the way!!!  TEENick is aimed at 12 - 14 year olds (not 5 - 10 year olds what the hell (ps got that from wikipedia fyi)), and though I'm no child psychologist or whatever, I'm PRETTY SURE that's around the age where boys and girls start thinking about the opposite sex.  i'm not saying these shows DON'T SUCK but they're not TEARING DOWN THE PILLARS OF SOCIETY like you guys all seem to think!

edit:  seriously 5 - 10 year olds how do you even come up with that

edit edit:  like, 10 year olds, ok.  but 5 year olds????? whaaaaat???????

News isn't meant to be humorous, it's meant to inform the public of whats important.

And quite frankly, some 16 year old twat who is mainly only famous cause of her sister who gets pregnant, isn't really important at all.

News isn't about what's important to you.  It's about what's important to that Nielsen box sitting on your TV shelf.  Unfortunately, this ranks up there.

You can get pregnant with protection, y'know?

I KNOW IT SURPRISED ME TOO

It's true actually there is no true form of protection other than to get snipped or tied. (even with getting tubes tied it dangerous to the female in rare cases and isn't always effective and is a main cause for tubular pregnancies.)

I got pregnant on birth control, and no I wasn't taking anything that could compromise the effects it just happened that way for me and apparently 'BC' isn't effective for my mother either.

The almost fool-proof way that has been discussed with many youth is taking birth control, sperm suppressors, and using comdoms while having sex reduces the chances of pregnancy by nearly 100% it's approx. 99.998% effective.

BUT SPERM SUPPRESORS C'MON THATS GOTTA SUCK.

If Jaime-Lynn got prego on her own time it's her own fault, not the media, not her sister or mother, and not even her boyfriends fault. It was completely her own decision and she is living with that and making her own choice. Whatever she does now is how people will model her in the future. Wanting to raise the child is a maternal instinct for most mothers so let her be with that choice.

Yeah, Nickelodeon is stopping production of the show after this season, and apparently, as I found out today, the DS game for it is not being made anymore as well :P

Since a lot of you seem to be getting hardons over their misfortune, it turns out that the guy may get ten years for statutory rape.

I bet someone will make a Law & Order SVU episode about this
Play Raimond Ex (if you haven't already)

I don't care for that girl.
I mean, she can hv sex if she's 16, rite?
that's not so bad. But if you get preg then, it's a pretty dumb situation and the child is the actual screwed one. Cuz his mother ain't got time for him (school,...)

But that show sucks. Not becoz its pedo, (it isn't. it's just 2 entertain 8 year olds.) but it's so fcking lame and boring.

uh, because thats the age of kids who watch it? yeah, ok, it's up to the parents to filter that shit, but do you really think parents DONT just stick nick on and leave the kids to it? its still not ok for nick to be showing that when they know just as well as anyone else that kids younger than 12 watch it.

even then, 12 is still impressionable.

Seriously, just because the target audience is 12-14 year olds doesn't mean 5-10 year olds don't watch it.  Even though it's changed a ridiuclous amount, I watched Teen Nick (well it wasn't Teen Nick then but it was the same target audience) just as much as regular Nick when I was way under that age group, when you are a young kid you watch the channel, you don't care what the programming block is.  And then I would watch Nick at Nite.  Oh yeah, the target audience for that was adults...WHOOPS GUESS THAT MEANS I DIDN'T WATCH IT I'M NOT THE TARGET FOR THAT.

Target audience doesn't mean shit as to who actually watches things.

All I want to know is, what happened to the Nickelodeon I grew up with? I remember shows like Pete & Pete, Salute Your Shorts, Clarissa Explains It All, Are You Afraid of the Dark... not this dreck.

this is funny because if we were talking about violent video games you would probably be saying UH IT'S THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENTS TO MAKE SURE THEIR KIDS AREN'T PLAYING THE WRONG GAMES FUCK YOU JACK THOMPSON

or do you support jack thompson

you support jack thompson don't you

edit: in other words if it's aimed at 12 - 14 year olds they shouldn't be held responsible if 5 year olds (FIVE YEAR OLDS DON'T WATCH THIS SHIT (look i can make assumptions too)) watch it and decide HEY IM GOING TO BE A SLUT (i'm 5 years old)

A 10 year old wouldn't really be able to go out and buy GTA by himself. He'd need his parents. Where as his TV is already in his home, anytime the parent isn't around the TV can be watched. It's really a majorly different situation than video games.

I don't know how shit works in wacky ol' England (you live in england right) but here in America we have TV Parental Guidelines, which is a handy little system that gives parents a vague idea of the content of a TV show.  And Zoey 101 is an American made television show, so your lack of a content rating system is not its problem.

And since you already seem to know that it's not suitable for kids, I don't see why real parents (who are probably more concerned about this stuff anyway) wouldn't.  If they think it's a real problem (which I'm pretty sure it isn't, but, again, I've never seen the show so hey maybe I'm wrong (pretty sure I'm not though)), then they can censor it from their kids.

I think I had some other things to say but instead I'm going to go watch an episode of Zoey 101 and see if it's really that bad or if you guys are just overly paranoid.

edit:  oh yeah, granted, Zoey 101 could very well be rated TV-G (general audience) but if TEENick is aimed at 12 - 14 year olds then I doubt it.

edit edit:  TV-PG S is a specific warning for MILD SEXUAL CONTENT so how much do you want to bet that Zoey 101 is rated that (if it does indeed have mild sexual content (i wouldn't know i haven't seen the show (why the fuck are you guys watching this shit anyway)))

Um dude, it's rated TV-Y7 meaning ages 7+ (my little sister watches this shit).  They have a valid point.
Gaming World Mini City: Population, Industry, Transportation, Security Current rank 3950.

bummer.  i'll hold judgment until i watch it myself though.

is your little sister a slut, though?

edit: ok nevermind im not subjecting myself to that shit. i still think that saying that it's turning our children into LITTLE WHORES (rofl) is a gross exaggeration but uh ok.

edit edit: also, i think my description of the TV Parental Guide system was a bit misleading.  the ratings are based on the content within an episode and not the show as a whole.  so one episode of zoey 101 could be TV-Y7 while another could be TV-PG, but probably not because from what I can tell the show is not that bad as far as sexual content goes!
