So I picked this up on my way home from work yesterday. I've probably put about two hours into it and am going to play it some more today.

I have to say, it's pretty damn fun. Darth Vader is actually a really cool character to use!

Too bad I think Darth is slow but has some nice powers. I need to unlock the apprentice he's a bit faster

The game plays well I put in 8+ in to the game some of it was playing online, or trying to get the treasurer chest from the tower or trying to receive honers so i can get more equipment.

Yeah, for me to play online I'd have to unplug my PS3 and lug it my computer, which isn't really worth the hassle.

CaS is turning out to be really fun. I can see some awesome potential for some really neat looking fighters to come from it.

Haha, that's how I felt Tuesday.

I played the game for a steady three hours yesterday and man, the customization is intense. Still trying to find out which default character is "for me" though so that I can learn their moveset..... And then make a CaS of them using their moveset/weapon.

I played against my step-sister for, I think, three matches. Much to her dismay, the game is not button masher friendly - a very good thing.

Also you can unlock everything simply by just PLAYING. You can buy things or do the Tower of Souls which will give you things immediately, but by simply just playing matches and messing around, the game will randomly tell you that there are new things available to be purchased. This is REALLY great for people like me who just want to play to beat the shit out of other characters and not do silly little missions.

I also read that there are something like 360 CaS parts. Holy shit. I don't even think I have half that yet and I can make some really interesting and unique looking characters.

Well you got it partly corrected when you get honers witch are achievements for pepole that have a 360 version you start to get new equipment available. but you still got missions to get stuff like doing actions with in the tower witch some tasks will seem like it next to imposable.

Man, that was hard to read. Have you been drinking, DDay?

Anyway.. You can just simply unlock things by playing. You know, by investing game time. Honor seems to help immensely, but it's not required.

No I was in a rush for work and I don't over look what I type so It becomes a cluster fuck of a sentience.

BTW honers active equipment most honers are achieved by just playing the game but some honers are odd balls like.

______Honer_________________________Task___________________

Equal Skill and Power              Use all skill points and set up 4 skills.(who in there right mind will use up all skill points )

Hero on the Battlefield           Clear ARCADE MODE with over 450,000 points (a pain)

Legendary Hidden Treasures   Acquire over 30 treasures in TOWER OF LOST SOULS( You have to do tasks to get the treasurer chest some you can come across just by playing but normally there odd tasks)

Never Ending Advance           Descend 20 floors in TOWER OF LOST SOULS.( I put this one in because it's so dam hard)

Phoenix                                  Win with all equipment destroyed (It's hard to loses it all in a real Battle, VS don't work and in a real battle your heath will be suffering after you get all your equipment knocked off )

How many characters have you unlocked so far?

I think I just have to unlock the rest of the special characters via story mode, but that's sort of taking a backseat while I try to unlock as many CaS parts as possible.

I guess DLC went up today. As much as I hate to feel like a sucker, I'll probably get it because it contains additional CaS pieces.

Yeah, everyone is speculating that it is Yoda on PS3 and Vader on 360 since both consoles have that same block empty.

Unless there will be a DLC-exclusive new character. That would be neat.

I've played this for about 30 minutes.

This game is very difficult. I used to be good at Soul Calibur. :(

It's been stated before they will be available for each other console so it is very logical that the hole would be for them

There's also at least one (iirc) Vader vs Yoda video up somewhere

Also, aren't the first DLC CaS parts old costumes? I remember seeing a "Downloadable Content" icon with pictures of Nightmare's and Astaroth's Soul Calibur 1 costumes.

Some are from 1,2 and 3 Since I have it. like nightmare has like 3 or 4 different Head  piece for the DL. Male have some head pieces from about 3 different Characters and Women get 1 top from ivy.... Today I'm about to leave to go to funeral home so I can be the pallbearer for a dead associate Died at age 47.

So the DLC only gives you about four new pieces for CaS?

Well no because nightmare has about 3 different head pieces with different variations from the past Soul Calibers. I'm just say it only covers about 4 Characters and I believe Women Only get 1 top form ivy but real I didn't look in to that.

I was curious what Nightmares face looked like now, since i'm satisfied I am now trying to make the most goofey character ever and fight Vader with it.

P.S. I'd so play a game with this guy in it...

A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

Is it just me or is this game incredibly addicting and fun?? I've put in 18 hours total so far (bought it on release day) and five of those hours were from today. Yeah.. I just stopped playing after five straight hours. This is the first game (not being an MMORPG) that I've done this with in so many years that I honestly can remember the last time I did it. Probably Final Fantasy IX, so yeah!

And man, I haven't even gotten the opportunity to play online yet.

I think it's ironic how when they first announced STAR WARS IS IN SOUL CALIBUR everyone is just "oh my god this game just became shitty" and now that it's ACTUALLY OUT it's a pretty awesome game.

I've played Soul Calibur II, and from my experiences people who button-mash could beat veterans. I'm glad to see that button-mashing pretty much a horrible strategy in SCIV.

Just got the premium edition for the 360 the other day... Fucking amazing. I love this game... Man I kickass with Nightmare and Yoda man..

Anyone know the specific differences between the Premium and regular editions for the 360 though? I haven't been able to figure it all out aside from the free T-shirt, marker, tournament poster, cool casing and comic book that you get with the game.
