Having watched all of the first three seasons online in about three weeks, watching like ten or so episodes a day on some weekends, the sudden transition to having to wait a week between episodes is HORRIBLE for me.

Favorite character is Sawyer, followed by Hurley, then Ben, and then Jin or Desmond. Mr. Eko was also my favorite for a while, but he's not around any more. Without the two of them (Sawyer and Hurley), the show really wouldn't be the same. I hate Jack and don't like Kate, although the both of them have become a lot more likable since the Hydra Station.

Talk of money seems petty compared to what is probably actually going on here...

I think that's intentional, especially when you remember Kate's reaction to the conversation. Miles really doesn't know that he's getting into something serious.

As for the Claire/funeral thing, I really don't think that she's dead, at least not dead in that sense. She likely died on the island (or was left behind-- remember Jack and Hurley felt that they needed to go back, I think it's likely a that a large group of the survivors stayed/were left behind while the Oceanic Six returned to the "real world").

What do we think of the new characters? Miles is pretty cool, Charlotte annoys the hell out of me, and Dan Faraday is really fucking cool. I can't wait to find out more of his story.

The new characters are growing on me. I kinda dig Dan Faraday's character (who's name escapes me at the moment). First I thought he was a terrible actor until I understood that that was the way his character was.

Miles really annoys me with his attitude and I'm happy he can't talk much for the moment ;) Charlotte is alright. I don't mind her really. Her accent is both annoying and sexy. Haven't really seen much of her yet so it's hard to say. Mr. Chopper appears to be the most trustful of the bunch. Kinda like him so far. It's gonna be interesting to see where he went with Desmond and Sayid.

So yeah, the new characters are a nice addition. I was a bit sceptical in the beginning but I'm starting to warm up to them.

I'm so bad at knowing what's spoilers and what's not so I just spoiler it all.

Well obviously something happened that made them decide to go into hiding. I suppose the 4 rescuers either decides to join them or ends up dead. Season 5 will probably focus more on this matter while season 6 will wrap everything up.

It's been really fresh having these transitions to the future instead of the past. Especially as the future affects every character whereas before we might get stuck watching an episode on a boring character (like kate.) But man what is going on. Sayid is working for Ben, Killing People, to protect everyone? It's all pretty mad.

Wow I swear I made a reply to this thread that responded to a lot of people, weird. Maybe I posted during a crash or decided just not to post after all. One of the points though was that the 8 wouldn't include any of the 4 new people as they weren't on the original flight. As far as we know they can leave on their own accord and posed as part of the rescue operation.

BEST. EPISODE. EVER.
Definitely.  All the Desmond episodes have been great, but this one was the best out of all of them (and one of the best, if not the best, in the series).  It felt like an episode from season one, but I'm not sure why.  In more recent episodes, they've been half-answering all the questions posed in previous episodes without actually revealing anything about the universe in which they live (unlike this one).

Desmond's episodes have always been the best.  The last episode of Season 2 was my favorite episode, but this one took everything up another level.

But holy shit.  Fucking time travel!  Finally, Lost has officially become a Science Fiction show.

Lost has been about Time Travel for a while, it just hasn't been acknowledged yet in the main series. This episode was awesome, I agree, I loved the ending with Daniel's note to himself. His memory loss (which was hinted at in the previous episode, with the cards), is likely the result of the prolonged exposure to the radiation, if you remember he didn't really say anything when Desmond asked about protecting his head.

I feel like an idiot. The other day my brother mentioned a theory about time travel and I was like "yeah right..." and the next episode just hit me in the face. I was pretty sceptical at first when I realized he was really going back and forth (although this has happened in an earlier episode) but as it progressed it became more and more interesting. I seriously love Daniel Faraday, he's a great addition to the series. Overall it was a very good episode, lots of things happened, things explained and the plot moving forward. The previous episode with Kate was really really boring compared to this.

By the way, the exact same thing with time between the island and the boat has been used in an episode of Stargate SG-1

This was brilliant. I love this season. I've been waiting for this episode ever since they
introduced Desmond. It's good to know there are some light sides to this story.
