I got OCD on all my shit lives, too. I never really associated OCD with shitty lives, I've known a lot of people, successful and not, with OCD. I have yet to get OCD on any of my good lives, too, which is weird.

My parents always seem to get OCD at some point in all my games, though.

are you sure it's not their own self diagnosed OCD? real OCD is like...washing your hands till the skin falls away unless you are restrained.

I'm just saying, I've known a lot of people who say they are OCD and aren't at all but the ones I do know are heavily medicated because they will scratch into their skull or something horrible.

I can't actually get a depressing life. I started in a war filled area of Afghanistan as a girl with high attractiveness and low strength/endurance, and it STILL ended well. I picked all the bad choices (I got married 5 times and must have had a ton of kids) and while my kids kept getting killed, I didn't. I eventually got so rich that I moved to a less war-torn area, and died married for 20 years from general complications of old age.
What is your definition of a depressing life??

I mean one where everything goes wrong, like one of Konix's or something. I still lived a long and successful life, despite picking ALL the bad options. By kids getting killed, I mean living to like 20 and dying in combat or moving out and having a war kill them or something.

And Steel, I don't know. Aren't there varying degrees of OCD? Like, locking a door multiple times isn't any less obsessive than washing your hands to the bone, to me, personally. Obviously the second one is WORSE but I'd say they are both pretty OCDish. I don't really feel confident enough to ask them HEY, YOUR FREAKY MEDICAL CONDITION, IS THAT ACTUALLY REAL OR ARE YOU JUST A FAKER?? unfortunately :(.

This game is getting annoying. Even though Khalid was making an absurd amount of money, had an equally absurd amount of debt (was in prison for 15 years). He could clear it in a few years if I saved some money... but I just can't. For some reason the game ups everything to the max if you can afford it via the "your spending is creeping up" message. It sucks. And now that he died of Leprosy he is going to be reincarnated with over 1kk in debt.

You can set it back down by going through the menu at the top. Though I do agree that it's dumb that the spending keep creeping up ridiculous amounts nearly every year, they should change that.

it would mean they would not sleep and stay up and have insomnia and basically ruin their life checking locks. we're talking about a mental illness, not a few quirks. that's why the OCD comes to the people with least happiness and shitty lives.

Has anyone been paid off by the "very little risk" stuff? I say yes to every single one of those that come my way, but it never work out. :(

I don't know all the medical terms, but people often confuse OCD with fixation which is a mental quirk where you fixate your attention on a specific task whenever it arises like double checking to see if a door is locked or stomping your feet everytime you enter a house.  Like steel said, full OCD is entirely obsessive or compulsive.  My mom used to be a probation officer and had to constantly monitor this one crazy bitch who smashed her head against a wall every time she said a curse word.  Shit's creepy.

Anyways, I wanted to become a political activist in Iraq but then I died at the age of 20 from heart failure.  Like I said, this game is depressing.

Yay teen pregnancy! (that family also had 6 boys)

My best life so far was when I was born in China. I was out of a job several times because of political dissent, but then I became a policeman. We got caught trying to illegally emigrate to America once, but got in the second time. Then I became a successful writer in Detroit. I lived to be 78 with a net value of 1,000,720 when I died of a heart attack.

I made millions on a life where I didn't work and just STOLE/TOOK RISKS.
now is the winter of our discontent

I managed to finally have a good life, where I was born in Canada and managed to become a doctor (thanks to my degree in ACCOUNTING). In my old age I decided to move out to the Yukon and spend all my savings on land; which actually paid off and I then moved to Barbados where I died of a heart attack.

Also moving out of your house at 11 is awesome. PART TIME GARBAGE MAN

i think it's kind of shitty that everyone is posting "i died with x amount of money" but i guess that's really the only way to measure yourself in this game, isn't it? this isn't like real life at all...

not really. i mention what my marital status was and if i had a good job in life. money/job/family are the only things to measure in the game, though, so ya. also IF YOU ESCAPED A SHITTY COUNTRY i guess that is cool.

Well there is also the Happiness stat, which I got to 89 on one of my people. Thats pretty good but also ironic because the rest of her life was pretty shitty.

Also teen pregnancy family I had was probably my worst so far even though it was in America. I moved out and got married, and had a son named Jesus. Now I was like "oh this is fucking sweet" but then he is like 30, married but still living at my house, and unemployed. My wife dies and his wife kills herself. I get thrown in jail for like 10 years because of repeated attempts at robbery and rake up a pretty massive debt (it was like -$200,000). I resort to being a BEGGAR and my fucktard son is like 58, unemployed, and still living at my house when I die of a stroke.

Yeah I don't get the happiness stat at all. Maybe some people are just bound to have a good/bad one? I have had rich doctors with good families that retired at 60 and moved to Miami or the Bahamas with low happiness and drug addicted women in Iran with 40 kids and wars and all that shit with high ones.

So krazy.

Does anyone know how much the monthly expenses (Diet, Shelter, Consumer Spending) affect average longevity? If you have a shitload of money and you set it to "Gourmand," Luxurious and Spendthrift, will you live to be 100?

P.S. The longest I've lived is 86.
