Oh yeah, Chrono Cross. Probably one of the best generic intros ever. Then again, it came out at a time when these sort of intros weren't THAT generic, and it's got enough style in its design that it's still a bit better than the average anime cutscene.

I liked how in Wild Arms 3 intro changed a lil every time you advanced the story... I know the intro is kinda generic but I never seen any other game where the intro actually changes depending on where you are at the game.

I didn't love what I've played of Bioshock (I do plan to finish it soon though) but the opening is incredible. The crash (the fire on the water is so awesome), the elevator ride, everything is fantastic.

Yeah Bioshock is easily like 2nd on my favorite games list (as least out of the more recent years) and it's a great game to me, really, but there was a LOT packed into the intro. No real filler either, it was just a small scene then BOOM you're dropped into the game.

The ride down into Rapture built up so much atmosphere and the first encounter with the Spider Splicer was cool. Plus, it's like "Hey I haven't seen that splicer in a while" until you finally start fighting Spider Splicers way later in the game; so it's cool to recall the beginning when you finally face one.

Haha, I so totally agree with Wild Arms. That WAS the coolest shit ever, when you're 7. And then it still stays cool in your mind, because of nostalgia. At least for me. Man I love that song. =D

herobash those were gay and don't even hold a light to the deep narrative structure of MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries.

I liked Half-Life/Half-Life 2's intro's, the latter was better. Also the Gameboy Colour LOZ games intro's were pretty good.

hahaha the MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries video is awesome.

And the song in Chrono Cross' intro is really great. Though I think all the music in that game is really great.

Grandia had my favourite opening music. That really drew me to play the game, until I sucked at the game and quit. The opening was captivating though.

Too bad they totally fucked up for Grandia 3..I mean the intro is so bad it made me want to not play the game...

Good god I hate Grandia III's main theme. That's the RPG I'm playing right now, I actually almost turned off the damn game forever after hearing that song. I think it's gotta be the worst theme song in a game ever. I mean what was wrong with just using the main theme from Grandia I & II? It was awesome (actually there was a part, I think it's at the title screen, when I thought they were about to bust out the old theme because of how the music was going but they didn't).

Never bothered with three, good thing, apparently.
