BEING DEVELOPED BY BIOWAREWow, so they finally learned something from the Mario RPGs and took the plunge themselves...
Upon looking further, this has actually been in development for a long time but I haven't seen a topic about it here, so here it is now...
Sonic is on vacation after defeating Eggman some time ago, when he receives a call from Tails, stating that Knuckles has been kidnapped, and that the Chaos Emeralds are disappearing[2].
The story is split into two acts. The first takes place in Sonic's world, with the team attempting to unravel the situation they are in, whilst also stopping the Master Emerald from being taken. The second act sees Sonic and the team travelling to another dimension in order to stop a new threat to their own world.[2]
The game will feature areas and music from previous Sonic games, ranging from Emerald Town, Tails Lab and Central City to more classic fields such as Green Hill Zone and Mystic Ruins; new areas will also feature, such as Blue Ridge Zone.[2]
A new character will be introduced to the game, known as Shade[6]; apart from the fact that she is female, no further information is known.
Okay so quoting wikipedia isn't the most accurate source but I'm sure it doesn't vary too far from the overall truth...
Of course, from reading it I'm not really into the concept, reminds me of the Sonic the Hedgehog failure that hit the 360, except rather than continuing with Blaze, they choose a new character, sounding like a cheap knock-off of Shadow... (shade).
Not to mention she looks like a cross between Midna and a Rabbit on Crack...

Overall the HUD looks very unpolished, not only that, I don't get SEGA's obsession with the fucking Grading System, I mean seriously it's tolerable in a platformer, but in an RPG? After a battle? Come on!
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't want to be told how I did in a battle via a Letter Rating.
Secondly, maps look okay, somewhat good for a DS game, but the map HUD and the graphical styles tend to clash a bit with the 3D sprites.
Third, only judging by the box cover, it shows WiFi compatibility, I can't think of what they would use it for, It would get tiresome if it was say... Sonic Party A vs. Sonic Party B...
Overall, the game looks promising, definitely a break from the predictable sonic mould that SEGA has been pushing recently, and hopefully it will pay off for them.
So what do you all think of this?
Monstrosity or Gem?
