Nolan has said he doesn't want this to be very magical or unreal.

There goes Poison Ivy. :(

I guess Batman and Robin killed any interest in ever using her again.

Yeah, that movie soured the thought of Mr Freeze for me as well. I have no doubt Nolan could make him work, but at the moment all I can think is Arnie going "LETS KICK SOME ICE"

oh ho ho

Man it's finally official. Number 1 at IMDB Does it really deserve it though. Not saying the whole rating at IMDB is official or anything.

The only complaints I've heard of the film is Bale's voice. If that is the biggest flaw of the film then I'd call it near perfect.

I haven't seen this yet, but I sure as hell want to since I loved Batman Begins.

How does Aaron Eckhart's performance compare to his others? Is it true that he's less of a villain in this movie and more of an anti-hero?

I dunno, I remember the Animated Series' Mr. Freeze, who was pretty much one of my favorite characters in any show. They made him so deep and really such a great character, and if Nolan brings that like Arnold didn't, it would be a really great role!

UPRC, he's not the main villain but the whole movie really is about him, and his transformation.

Yeah, I knew that the Joker was the main villain in the movie. Towards the end though, is he a villain or anti-hero? Roger Ebert says that he only goes after the bad guys after he starts to become Two-Face?

If a response to this spoiler worthy, then tag it and I'll read it. I wouldn't want anything that spoils the plot or not. I'm simply wondering if he's a BAD DUDE by the end of the movie and all that.

I'm pretty sure the next movie will be the Penguin or the Riddler. I could see either working very well with the mood of this last film.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCKCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

holy shit I see an awesome riddler coming

Quote from: Wikipedia article on "The Riddler"
Nolan series

Director Christopher Nolan took the helm as director of the new Batman franchise with the 2005 film Batman Begins. In The Gotham Times, a viral marketing website promoting the 2008 film The Dark Knight, Edward Nashton, an alias of The Riddler, is credited for an editorial in Volume 2 about a Batman statue being added to the Wax Museum. The editorial parallels a 1966 episode of the Batman TV series, in which the Riddler used a Batman statue to smuggle in a 'Universal Wax Solvent' from France. Although Anthony Michael Hall was rumored to be playing the Riddler, Hall is playing a reporter named Mike Engel. While doing press for The Dark Knight, Gary Oldman alluded that the Riddler could be the villain in the proposed third film. David Tennant has expressed an interest in the role. [5]

Nothing about Depp but it says it could either be Anthony Michael Hall (guy from Deadzone, The Reporter from "The Dark Knight") or the Dr. Who guy.

I love some of the stylistic elements though, like when Dent was in the Mayor's office they had a slight shadow on the right side of his face. I also loved how they put the title sequence at the very end. No one does that. It's like, we don't need to introduction, ya'll know what it is. Instead of acting as an introduction, it served as the perfect close.

Hopefully there will be more than 2-3 films, and they don't pull another spider man 3 where they cram like 3 villians into 1 film. There are just too many great batman villains like Killer Croc, Mad Hatter, Penguin, Ivy, Clayface, Riddler,  Harley Quinn, Mr Freeze, etc.

Also wanted was garbage man, hey lemme flick this gun, the bullet might curve.

While I agree with you on the first thing you said, I dissagree about your opinion of there being more than 3 films. Name the last time a series went beyond 3 movies where they didn't get uninspired and worse with each installment. I almost don't want a 3rd one in this series. Remember the last time batman went to number 3?

Also, there are a few things about this new series that I don't like. They try too hard to make it seem plausible that everything could happen in real life. What do you think the chances of a guy in a suit fighting crime with the cops ON HIS SIDE are. Also, because of this suggestion of realism it gets rid of the possiblity of a lot of villians for this series because the comics never really cared about realism.

Johnny Depp, really? That's really cool, but I figured if they needed a new Joker, he would be good enough for it.

And am I the only one who wouldn't want to see Catwoman? Granted, I was never into comics, so I only have the animated series to judge her by...but I never really found her that interesting when I was a kid.

But that was about a decade ago, so...

Who else is there, though? Batman doesn't really have the most extensive rogues gallery that would fit Nolan's purposes.

Unless they used Bane. Fuck yeah, Bane.

I'm not sure about that.

Well, to be more specific, that's risky as hell. Could it work? Sure, it worked for Iron Man, but given that Batman's world is a lot more intricate and detailed than Iron Man's world, making a whole new villain separate from the relatively strict continuity of the comics is a risky venture; hell, comic book fans were pissed as it is that Rachel Dawes was in the films at all.

Like I said, it could work, but it's a gamble. I'd vote against it, personally.

...Sure, it worked for Iron Man...

Uhhh what? If you're referring to Obadiah Stane's giant metal suit, that's Iron Monger from the comics.
