?? the difference between classes and full-time education is what? also aren't you like 16? do they call high school college in england?
14 hours according to maladroithim / Steel's exchange! basically highlighting that maladroithim has every right to be jealous considering there's still a huge gap timewise because homework and studying isn't different.

Also we don't have high school here, school isn't broken up in the same way that US schools are, and school ends during the 15/16 age margin. Since I am 17 in two days I am halfway through college atm: another year of college and then onto university. so essentially none of it aligns properly between the UK and the US.

cmpt225 is some programmning course
cmpt250 is computer architecture
math151 is calculus I
iat100 is something to do with design
iat244 is something else

Zoology, German, History, Public Law Private Rights, Composition. My schedule is pretty easy this year, but I can't say I like all my professors. My law professor intimidates me (I'm pretty sure he's a lawyer; he talks like one).

I'm pretty excited about my schedule this year. Should be fun and challenging! I'm an art major, concentrating in sculpture, video, and digital media, minoring in anthropology.

M     1250PM-0400PM  ADVANCED PROJECTS IN VIDEO ART
M     0545PM-0905PM  ADVANCED PROJECTS IN ART AND MEDIA
T      1100AM-1215PM SPACE/PLACE IN HUMAN COMM
T     0200PM-0315PM  PREHISTORIC ART & SYMBOLIC EVOLUTION
W     0620PM-0900PM RECAPTURING LIFE
TR     0200PM-0315PM  PREHISTORIC ART & SYMBOLIC EVOLUTION
TR     1100AM-1215PM SPACE/PLACE IN HUMAN COMM

The Recapturing Life class is a 3D computer animation specializing in using a motion capturing software and Virtools. I'm pumped!
If ends up being bad, I'll probably switch it to

Monday: 8am-3:45pm
Tuesday: 8am-2:45pm
Wednesday: 9am-3:45pm
Thursday: 8am-5:30pm
Friday: 8am-2:45pm

My schedule is horrible, especially Thursday. The worst thing is that I didn't really even have much of a choice. It's my first year in university and there are a lot of these courses and subjects I need to take now with the rest of my class because in the following years we'll branch out. I'm studying computing but for the most part my classes for the first year are some basic subjects like languages (English, Swedish and Spanish for me), math, logistics, communications and stuff like that. I have a few pretty cool subjects too though, like 3D modelling.

But anyway, 38 hours a week for the first half a year is going to suck a lot especially because I want to work a bit as well because otherwise I'm going to be poor as hell.

I want to punch the people at my school.

The thing I check my schedule online on says NO ACCOUNT FOUND and it won't even let me recreate my account (plus I would need some special guidance code for me) so gasrnewrndsf

That means I have to go up to school to check my schedule and deal with a bunch of shit.

I'm going into my last year of high school (thank GOD, it didn't come soon enough) and considering I plan on studying music in college I am taking some PRETTY unnecessary courses:

AP Calculus BC (I had originally signed up for AP Statistics but then was like aw hell, I'll take another year of calc!)
AP Physics C: Mechanics (that is, Physics with Calculus!)
AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism (again, Physics with Calculus!)
AP Chemistry
AP English Literature and Composition
Italian I (my easy course)
Philosophy and Christian Marriage (obligatory Catholic school religion course)

Yeah, that is why I probably will enter college with 35 credits, which is basically an entire year of work that I can instead do on electives or graduate earlier.
Yep, huge waste of time.

he's just bitter cause his state doesnt accept AP credits at any state school

and because AP classes are nothing like college classes and why you get credit for them is beyond me.

There is no comparison between the knowledge gained in a real college class and that gained in an AP class. The atmosphere and material are totally different. So yeah you might get your awesome 35 credits -- and that is a MIGHT, depending on your school -- but when you decide to go to the next level of math or probably anything else you will find that you are missing a considerable amount of knowledge and then you will spend your time stressing out either trying to catch up or just outright failing the class.

Good luck with that.

Well, I took AP Chem in highschool (and then failed it) (The only available AP course at the time...), then took an equivalent course in college and while they may have been a bit different, they material was pretty much identical.

I don't care if I do well in the exams, more likely than not I won't be able to use any credits I could get, but courseload is important for college admissions. I don't care about the AP grades so much as the fact that I'm taking the courses and that I do well in them.

Standardized test grades are so much more highly considered by colleges that GPA or course load has really nothing to do with it.

this isn't true at all and is dependent highly on who your AP teachers are. also, AP lets you skip classes that you don't need so an English major doesn't have to waste money on Calc 201 if he passed the AP exam. I switched majors but if I hadn't, as an engineer I wouldn't have had to take another class outside my major (English 101 or whatever it was) because I did well on the AP.

Jeff did you not realize this!!!
