aspergers.
also I get the calculator is impressive but look at what it required. forget diff eq or whatever stuff you might even hypothesize about, aside from being BORING AS SHIT you'd probably need more abacuses (abaci? no, its probably abacuses) than the game could potentially hold.
and I understand the game can hold a lot but look at all that for two digit addition and subtraction.
also also I've been avoiding saying this because the OP says NO SAYING ITS BAD but goat broke that rule so I will too; this isn't anything SUPERINNOVATIVE and is about as gimmicky as the wiimote or whatever flavor of the month people latch onto. to make a really great level will take a bunch of time and if anything this is a downgrade as far as user creations go because doesn't XNA take C# creations? I just don't see this being the gaming or designing revolution HL was telling me it was in another topic. not unless TONY HAWK PRO SKATER LEVEL MAKER was the same thing. it's just a gimmick to sell the game. a good gimmick and more interesting than most, but I'm not too impressed!
it's innovative in that its the first console game to be entirely built by users, for users, playing with other users (you can build levels online with other people), using content you create, with textures you make, and can sell, playing through levels together, etc. It's not on the scale of gmod, but it isn't trying to be. it's less complex so that the average user can make something, and has creater user functions. this type of UGC is going to push the industry forward in the future and it hasn't been done on this level of scale yet.
i mean that giant collosus thing on page 1 was made by faculty at a school and they were adults who probably don't play videogames much at all and it looks really really good. giving that type of control to the common user really hasn't been done before in an official game built around such a community, and it's innovative in that sense. the difference between a console level editor (I find the gmod comparison not fair, since this is a console game) and this, is that a level editor is either a dumbed down version of the tools the devs used to be more simple and have restrictions and can only use materials used in the existing game (see: said tony hawk level maker), or a (only seen on PC) exact replica of what the devs use that is entirely complex for the average user that locks most of them out of UGC anyways. (see: HAMMER on the PC)
this is the first "content editor" (since it's more than a level maker) on consoles that is an exact replica of what the devs use, but it's simple too. the end result is a game that is 100% UGC, and that hasn't been done before. even gmod largely uses materials from other source games usually, granted you can use other materials, thats true, but LBP makes importing other stuff SUPER EASY for the average dumb person which means seeing 100% custom levels will be pretty simple and easy to do for the average user and that is what makes it the unique snowflake in a pile of shit in my eyes.
i mean, someone made a CALCULATOR. yes its entirely USELESS (it's three digit, not two.), but it's still a rather innovative use of it, and if people can make a damn calculator in this I can't wait to see what other UGC they make!
