Most people do not play their console with headphones and 2 feet away from the screen is what he was getting at I think.

I still haven't gotten the game... but uh yeah My PC and my 360 share the same monitor... I want to know if the controls are awkward on PC AT ALL compared to other PC games of a similar kind. This is like my main issue. the secondary issue I have is the lighting. Like I said I've read online that someone played the PC version and their friend got the 360 version and he said the the 360 version had a darker look and seems scarier because of this. He even said that he turned his brightness down and said that it didn't help... now I wish I'd remember WHERE I read this....

I've just gotten this after my 360 got back from repairs earlier today. I've only played about half an hour or so, but it's really enjoyable so far! The 360 version is a little... jaggy compared to the PS3 and PC versions but it's the gameplay that counts. Really manages to set an atmosphere!

the funny thing is that you made this post like it contained some kind of revelation.  OOPS its not a first-person shooter... it's a third-person shooter.

Well I just mentioned it because there actually were several posts in the thread writing the game off because some people think it is a first-person shooter.

I still haven't beat this game. Mostly due to the fact that I can't play it in long intervals. The game is excellent so I'm not knocking it but towards the very end of the game its repetitiveness really does wear in. I'm on Chapter 10 out of 12, and idk I've been on Chapter 10 for more than a week! Not saying I pick up the game every day though.

It's also mostly due to me and horror games not mixing. Like it depends on the game really. Silent Hill games sit well with me; Condemned did but Condemned 2 didn't; etc. This game really shows all that it has at about Chapter 7 or 8, or whatever one it is where you :EDIT: whoops apparently this was chapter 9 and i'm on 10. :(

I haven't encountered a single new enemy or new event since then that I can remember. All the new enemy ideas slowly dwindled away. Now I'm actually seeing the same enemies that I saw in the first couple chapters except they have like pitch black skin and move faster/hit harder, so that's a bad sign.

This game is still one of the best experiences I've had, and as a horror game, it scares the hell out of me so who knows! But a horror game does mix with me when it dwindles down and starts to rewash enemies and all that. They could've added something more. But who knows, maybe I'll run into something this Chapter...?

Hey so the controls on this game are fucking horrible, like to the point that I would not play this with a mouse ever, they are slow, sluggish, the mouse has a delay for some stupid reason and fucking with the sensitivity controls are pretty awkward. I'ts not a case of rebinding or re-handling it's just that GENERALLY the controls are pretty fucking awaful and the only way I could get any amount of GOOD CONTROL was to plug in my xbox controller at which point it was STILL sluggish and awful, harder to aim but at least I could walk around without running into everything and struggling to see where I am going due to LUMBERING ISAAC TAKING UP ALL THE SCREEN.

Does anyone else have issue with the controls and what did you do to fix it?

maybe it's just me but on the console i'm used to the controls. i guess it's probably more screwy on the computer i guess. i agree though the controls aren't the best but i got used to it.

I played it in 1080p with surround sound. SHIT WAS AWESOME.
Played Fallout 3. This still gets my Rank for best game 2008
I do Gripe about the whole Shop aspect of it. And the ammo pickups from corpses. And although i wish it was more survival horror than an Action game, I like it for what it is, Its pretty Rad.

If they put more effort into giving Issac an Evasive measure, As in you could weld doors closed, and lure the creatures to other areas and box them into compartments instead of just killing everything. Something like that. Or make a charge that you put on the hull and Depressurize the Room, sucking everything out. Then you seal it back up with sealant.

I am thoroughly enjoying playing soccer with a zombie's head.

I'm only up to Chapter 3 but I'm having a lot of fun with the game! I'm doing a Plasma Cutter run next for the achievement because the other weapons aren't even that good so far anyway.

Holy fuck that was awesome. I sat down and finished the last ~6 chapters in a single sitting but needless to say that ending was incredible. I also saw the little predictable bit at the end, what with but I still jumped about six fucking metres into the air.

I was thinking the game was getting a little repetitive around chapter... 8-9, but it really picks itself up in the last two chapters. Incredible.

Yeah that's what I was getting at. Around Chapter 8, 9, 10, it felt really repetitive to me so my playing slowed down. Afterwards I finished the last two chapters in one sitting.

Overall it's a good game! Worth the money I'd say, if you like this type of game. As far as replayability, who knows, but I'm doing another run on Impossible difficulty to get my ass handed to me.

I'm having a much better time with this game than I thought. the plot is such a fucking writeoff, and every single scare is OH FUCK IT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE so far, but it's a good time. the lack of a hud is astonishing good game design V. IMMERSIVE or whatever term you dorks throw around. yeah I'm impressed so far and I'm only on chapter 2.

not at all imho. I mean they are both survival horror third person shooters but I didn't enjoy RE4 to the degree I'm liking this so far.

I'd rent it though or get another opinion because I never played RE4 that much, just when friends had it.

To be honest I think some parts of the game makes it look like a interactive movie, which is great because looks so awesome, I haven't got the game to be honest but from the videos that I have seen I sometimes forget I'm watching a game.

so into chapter 3, there are elements i dont like. for one, I am getting pretty fucking tired of the silent protagonist who gets the plot revealed to him/her via audiotapes scans whatever. for another i do not like that i have to use these other weapons; I'm pretty beast with the pistol but there's not enough ammo lying around.

i do enjoy the fact that there's limb damage; it's something i've said fps games should have for a long time, at least beyond HEADSHOT. i also don't quite know what the weird dog tentacle creatures weakpoints are; sometimes i'll hit it and it'll die in like two shots but usually i don't!

i did my first playthrough with the pistol. idk maybe it was because i became conservative about it? i can't quite remember how i survived with just the pistol/found a lot of ammo. i mostly bought it cause i'd store up on all sorts of stuff and sell it. plus i got the "elite suit" for free which gives you 25 inventory slots. too bad the stupid people have it costing microsoft points now or whatever.

also yeah the protagonist never stops being silent! so yeah.

and are you talking about the baby looking things? their "weak points" are to shoot their tentacles when they come out. like when they stop moving and bring out their 3 tentacles, shoot the tentacles off. you only have to shoot 2 off to kill them (for normal mode if i remember right) or else you're unloading your ammo into its body and wasting it all.

wait i dont get it. what elite suit? was it a download to CHEAT THROUGH THE GAME or something, because I've got a level 2 suit and yeah I had to drop ammo or not pick it up early on.
