Saturday I saw The Happening.
I avoided this movie because I spoiled it for myself when it was in theatres but wow! I thought the idea was dumb but this movie was horrid!
The acting was maybe the worst in a blockbuster like that I've ever seen. There is a scene where this old lady says to Mark Wahlberg, "You're going to kill me in my sleep aren't you?!" and he's just like "Whaat? Nooooo..." and it was so hilarious I rewound and watched a few times more. Ugh it was such a bad movie. And lions grab a guy's hands and pull his arms off lol.
I saw Up! tonight though, and it was by far the best disney movie I've seen in a few years. I didn't see Cars or any of that shit since Toy Story 2 maybe, and I really liked this movie! Some of the characters were kind of irritating, mainly the dog, but I think the target audience is pretty young, despite some heavy adult themes. The old man's wife dies at the beginning of the movie and he's left with this dream they had of going to south america which is why he decides to fly his house around.
The movie is set on a timer though, which is the balloons filled with helium slowly losing air, which is pretty great. And also there is a fight between two old men which is really entertaining as a whole.
Pretty much this is a must see if you are at all a fan of family movies or disney.
