Yeah, I've heard about extended artwork, so I will try to get my hands on an LP version some day.

Well, I'd say say DSOs lyrics are something in that direction, with a twist of theology lol. As long as the band are serious with what they express in their lyrics and aren't completely retarded, chances are I will enjoy their music. And aren't american, I'm sorry to say; I've never heard any good north-american black metal, and I've heard alot.

Negura Bunget I'm familiar with but not really crazy about.
The only American black metal bands I found alright are Leviathan and Lurker of Chalice. The rest is very very very lame. There's a few good bands in Canada though. Sadly most bands in America only reproduce what has already been done which is completely retarded. But in general, black metal seems to be extremely stale right now which is sad. Most fans of BM are the biggest frickin' sheep and idiots I've seen in my entire life.

The new Doom:VS album Dead Words Speak is AWESOME. I didn't enjoy the first album but this one is pure genius. I was playing it at my videostore friday night and I was really impressed.

I wanted to ask you guys... what do you think about Gaahl being gay? I've seen quite a few "kvlt" people get pissed because of that which I don't understand since he's exactly following the principles of black metal: opposition and individualism. I personally don't care about his sexual orientation, it doesn't change his music, most of it is still boring. I respect him for having the guts to say that though...

A few bands to check out:
Amesoeurs (black metal mixed with new wave?)
Ataraxie (funeral death/doom that can get rather brutal)
Warning (crushing epic doom, definitely one of the most depressing bands)
How Like A Winter (beautiful gothic doom metal)
Wedard (really frickin' great black metal that would later draw a lot of influence from Katatonia)

This thread must not die...

I listened to them... they weren't anything great. They have a very very big core influence so you have to be into that to appreciate them.
