dude those pictures are nothing alike, im hoping you're being facetious because STUPID INDIE CHICK WITH A QUIRKY PIPE vs ANGRY WASP BITCH IN A DARK FILTER SMOKING CIGARETTE really?

also you've either never seen either of these movies or even their trailers or something because they are nothing alike. juno is a movie that is obnoxiously indie, rachel getting married is an obnoxious indie movie.
why are you taking this seriously

seriously

(ps: they are both wearing green hoodies)

Sasha Stone at Awards Daily (she is pretty good with these) just said she saw Benjamin Button and thinks it's true frontrunner material.

Replace Taraji P. Henson with Penelope Cruz for 'minority' winner this year.

Esh, have you considered betting money for this stuff, dude?

A big multiplex here usually holds a contest to guess what would win and I usually win because people don't know what the hell they're doing when they do their submissions. The prizes is usually just shit like DINNER FOR FOUR AT BENIHANA, though, but I've heard about some serious betting pools. And idk, when you have locks like Day-Lewis for TWBB and Bardem for NCFOM, it starts to sound like not a bad idea.

Also DEFIANCE. Is that any good?

I've never talked to you and dunno what's with you, who you are, or why you choose to behave like a little insect and buzz around my posts. Nor do I or have I really cared to know the answers to any of those. But you trail me a lot and that tends to get annoying, so stop. I already have gnats around my neighbourhood irl, I don't need them in the forum as well, especially when all they have to buzz about is something someone already said.

hahahahaha what?

I've been thinking about this, and I think Wall-E was the best movie I saw all year. By far.

I remember seeing Wall-E in the theatre and about half the kids really liked it and the other half slept through it or hated it. And I kept wondering which of the two groups I'd be in if I were like 8. I thought it was really good, though the message was a bit heavy-handed. I really really was in awe of the first half hour or so, where there was no dialogue, before he boarded the space colony. But by the end, I was like okay jeez ease up with the message, it's distracting. But I think every other Pixar movie pales by comparison. Well, maybe not Ratatouille.

When I saw Wall-E I thought it was really cool, but the first thing I heard was a 6 year old kid say "That was a bit slow, wasn't it?". It was like he was imitating something his dad would say

Wall-E was really good. And a pretty brave move for a Disney/Pixar film.

It just got a bit Pokemon in the end.

Hey, just postin' again:

Defiance has a chance for Supporting Actor (Liev Schreiber) and Actor (Daniel Craig). I'm just saying so because it's directed by Edward Zwick and Zwick campaigns hard for his actors. Like here are some of the acting noms:

Glory - Denzel Washington (won)
Legends of the Fall - Brad Pitt
The Last Samurai - Ken Watanabe
Blood Diamond - Djimon Hounsou

And I heard Schreiber has a very meaty role, so I dunno. Also, is it safe to say Tom Cruise is out of the game for Valkyrie? People have campaigned hard for him to get another nomination since 2000, like for The Last Samurai and for Collateral, but have failed. He was great in Tropic Thunder, though.

And another point: Is it just me who is tired of Cate Blanchett?

Also:

I don't underestimate Clint Eastwood. Knowing how flimsy Hollywood is and how much Eastwood is revered, I believe he can just phone up a nomination for himself, especially when he's released 2 films this year.

And I've browsed a few sites and apparently there's a lot of buzz for Wall-E, for Best Picture. But I still don't feel it'll happen.

also does anyone else find it weird that the movie industry basically decides to hold a huge gala event where they pat themselves on the back?

I've always had this fantasy where I win like the best picture or best director oscar and I go on stage and say something along the lines of FUCK YOU AND YOUR OSCARS.... and then I throw it in Billy Crystal's face.

I don't know. Something is wrong with me mentally. I would really like not to care about a lot of trivial things but I can't. I love remembering shitty statistics and lists. I love to list and organize bullshit for no reason.

My life has gone downhill ever since Steel posted that sporcle.com site. I have been trying to get 100% on every stupid Sporcle quiz. I don't know why!

I dunno I'm pretty into the Oscars and Box Office numbers and dumb shit like that but I don't really know why! It's interesting though and it's nice when the academy doesn't go for lame, expected decisions.

Slumdog won some precursor awards. Benjamin Button rises a little. Milk too. The Dark Knight campaigning hard. Rachel Getting Married takes a severe drop, Frost/Nixon takes a big jump.

International Press Academy (Satellite) noms (usually a fairly good indicator for Oscars) came out the other day too:

I told ya they would pull shit like nominate Nolan but not TDK. It would probably go that way for the Academy too. Comic book movie??? Noooope, but the director sure did something swell!

Updated Predictions:

Revolutionary Road
The Dark Knight (still think it'll make it in)
Slumdog Millionaire
Milk
Frost/Nixon

pretty sure know one thought this movie was juno 2. why do people think this? it doesn't resemble juno at all other than the fact that anne hathaway has brown hair and is white.
