I'm tempted to continue making fun of you, but really dude?

horseshit like this is a staggering waste of cinematic talent and resources, i don't understand why you would want to SUPPORT this kind of shitty movie instead of going to see something that's not all about explosions.

seriously i have nothing against BIG EXPLOSIONS AND SFX SCENES (die hard is my favorite action movie, no country for old men had some spectacular cinematography and sfx scenes, raiders of the lost ark had one of the most memorable special effect scenes in all of cinematic history, hell, star wars is great and it has some memorable scenes which rely almost ENTIRELY on special effects to wow the hell out of you) but if there is NO REDEEMING QUALITIES TO THE FILM other than oops look its sf thats pretty badass xD why would you want to spend money to see it? why would you particularly want to see it at all?

do you not see the difference between an action-adventure movie spectacle that's actually good like raiders of the lost ark and the stuff emmerich pumps out? movies like this have no good acting, they certainly don't have memorable characters, they DEFINITELY don't have well-written plots, and most of all they lack any kind of charm

jesus, and then there's all the movies which are about SO MUCH MORE than entertainment. you're the type of guy who walks out of No Country For Old Men thinking that it could have used a couple of big explosions or that you really wanted to see Moss battle the Mexicans in a big gunfight.

Okay, please don't assume you know my taste in movies.

I can watch and enjoy absolutely anything. I was in the tenth grade the first and only time I saw TDAT, and I liked it. It had faults, I never said it didn't, but I wanted to see action and I did, and so I was pleased. It's hardly the worst movie ever made like some of you are making it out to be.

I didn't say it was my favorite movie of all time (or anywhere close) or the greatest piece of cinema ever created. All I said, was that I liked it for what it was, mindless entertainment. There are a variety of movies made for everyone. If someone doesn't prefer movies like NCFOM, it doesn't mean they have better or worse taste than you, it's just not what they're into.

I mean, if I'm gonna pay $10 to see a movie, I wanna have fun, damn it. If it's long, and slow, and boring, I am going to acknowledge everything good about it...I'll just never in my life want to see it again.

i wasn't responding to you. i was responding to massy2k6

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

The new one has the most boring poster in the world, and it looks even worse when it's right next to the original.

They just don't know how to make posters anymore.

I thought this movie was about a spaceship that lands, an indestructible robot, and all that.

So where's the fucking robot?!?

I keep seeing commercials for this and they have this really crappy looking CGI robot in them. We're talking Sci Fi channel original movie level CGI here. I find that troubling.

Anyone else noticed that they fucked up the date on this movie? The end of the mayan calendar and proposed end of the world is 21st December 2012 not the 12th

I wonder why they chose a date that is obviously quite similar :/

It wasnt great but I think it was worth the watch. Jennifer Connelly looked great in it and that alone kept me entertained, felt a little cheated with the ending.. not sure why but felt like they could have expanded it a little more, maybe allowed us to see the impact on our race from what occured in the end.. trying to be carefull with my words, dont wana spoil it for anyone.

haha the product placement in this movie kept me entertained.

Seriously though, I'm getting tired of these really preachy 'save the earth' movies. They're so unsubtle that they feel like a extended government infomercial
