its not even an English work originally, it's part of literature classes. and once again this is a public work, incredibly famous, and yet you're still willing to "give it the benefit of the doubt" rather than read a work widely regarded as fucking CANON and realize how obscene making a videogame on it is!

that's not where he's coming from. where he's coming from is not only does he not know the work, he insists that the "real world" does not either despite this being one of the most famous works of western literature (even this shitty game trailer mentioned it changed the face of the world I GUESS ME AND THE GAME DESIGNERS ARE THE SAME), that people who dislike this idea have an unhealthy attachment to the original work and can't judge the game on its merits (man I don't know italian, it strikes me as a bit off to enjoy the language of an epic poem that's been translated, basically I DONT EVEN CARE FOR THE INFERNO THAT MUCH), and that his ignorance is an excuse to think this game can be okay and isn't just an awful shill.

this is like Macbeth, THE VIDEOGAME, and he's still saying "I don't know anything at all but heh...I'm an optimist (not just completely ignorant of any sense of context)"

uh this is what canon means dude. its not a funny word wikipedia made up for anime. the original meaning is for writing an essential work. real canon IS literature canon. here's a quote:

i think it was in crude 3d or something

it was boring tho

there are probably adventure games based on half the novels/epics there

i know el cid was a campaign in aoe2, but that was a good game

drawing stuff from mythology isn't the same as making a game purporting to be based on the work itself.
