Some menu shots from yet another game.

Nice and simple, albeit the faces should be much lighter shade in green like similar to the font.

And that's when I decided to become a barber.

I want to post something too! :shady:
This is my hometown, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. Included is Mission, Mckenny and St. Vital Ave., compressed into only the important buildings :). I made this for fun a year ago..

SCREENSHOTS
Going for the classic green and black computer style look. The faces are just temporary, the effect isnt.

That's pretty rad, are you perhaps still working on 10 thousand bullets?  :fogetgasp:

10,000 Bullets is on hold for the time being. This was the systemset for a different game that seems to be evolving into a different game, argh my stupid head.

@Bunsen.05:  My only suggestion to give a stronger computer look is to put horizontal lines across the facesets.  In a slightly lighter translucent green would give a nice screen effect.  Hopefully you know what I'm talking about.  I was trying to find a reference picture, but I had no luck.

Mikemc: I like the overall structure of the city, but you should add more stuff, all the houses look the same, and you need stuff like trees, flowers etc to give more variety, looks a bit plain for now.
ok, I'm almost done with this big dungeon in Lost King, I think it takes around 30 mins to beat it completely. So here's a bunch of screens from it.

Walking around the main floor of the dungeon

Moving platform action!

Fighting some deep sea baddies!

This last screen shows the pictures I use for important moments, believe it or not, that tiny sea horse is the Submerged temple boss, don't be fooled by its size though. It really packs a tough fight.

sword: thanks, my game was actually very influenced by the breath of fire series (my favorite rpg series btw)
the_nackster: thanks man, and about the breathing, like in every old school rpg, there's only 2 ways of breathing underwater, either getting a magical item, or with a spell, in this case it's with a temporary spell.
I'm really glad you like the screens guys, after I finish this dungeon, I need to make some cutscenes, a new town, some more cutscenes and then I'll be able to finally release a second demo. I really hope you'll like it, because I've worked a lot in this game.

Holy shit.

That is incredible, I don't know what else to say. You might want to fix up your facesets in the DBS so they match the system set. Other than that, I am loving those screenshots. I want another release...

Thanks a lot Neophyte, I'm glad you are still interested in this game after so long hehe.
What doy ou mean fix the facesets so they match the system set? You mean because the numbers overlap the faces?
And I'll try to have the new demo soon, after finishing this dungoen it shouldn't take me too long.

Cray those screens look great, but that sea horsey, I just want to see how strong it is because it looks so puny and weak. It also looks so cute that I don't want to hurt it man.

Oh geeze, I forgot the trees!
I'm guessing this spell also keeps you from swimming and petrifies your spikey hair?
Will there be an overlay of junk and waves floating around or are you staying with plain blue?

Not the numbers, the white border cuts off when the faceset meets. It would be better if it wrapped around the facesets too. That's all.

Bandito, well for starters, it's pretty fast, and has quite a few very damaging spells, also casts mirror, which makes him invulnerable to spells for 3 turns, and casts a spell that makes him strong against his naturally weak element (fire).
Don't worry though, he's not an evil guy, all the bosses of these big dungeons, are just testing your strenght so they can join you, then you can use their powers, and even summon them if you want.
Mikemc, well in most rpg's where I've seen you can travel underwater, you just walk in there, so I guess the spell also has more properties. And I'll be staying wih plain blue, I tried using an overlay, but it looked weird.
Neophyte: Well I guess it's just a matter of personal taste, I designed the system so that the window was behind the facesets, that's why you can see the left border, to make it so the white part goes over the faceset, I would need to edit the faces themselves, and then they wouldn't look good in the menu, so I'll just keep it that way for now.

Cray: Wow, the moving platform screenshot is a lot like one of the parts in my game! :) And yeah, parts of it is heavilly influenced by the BOF series too lol
I love what you did with the game, though! It looks really fun to play! Can't wait till you finish it! ^_^

@Cray

consider reducing the thickness of the HP and MP bars, the numbers dont quite overlap they just sit on the bottom edge, it creates a lot of tension and your eye is drawn right to it. I like the look of all of those screens though, how hard is makign moving platforms? I tried a while ago but wasn't getting it right

Dookie: I guess I could have them as thick as the time bar, it's not too hard to do.
I'm glad you like the screens, and about the moving platforms, well, the only problem with mine is that when you stand in one of them the rest of them stop moving till you get to the other side, it's not really important though, the other way would have needed parallel process events, and it would have been much harder.
if you're interested I can send you a pm with the events content. :)
Thanks Xathia! I see great minds think alike, eh? and yes, moving platforms were very common in breath of fire 1 & 2.

Cray: I'd actually suggest going with the traditional battle view. It's a less buggy method, which is always a plus, and I actually think (given the right system set) that it would look better than the gauge that you are using currently.
Other than that everything looks amazing. I like the bubble effects too.

Bunsen.05: I would agree with oc_gunslinger's suggestion on the faces, with the scan lines like in the selection box and a lighter green. Otherwise it looks good. I like the red used for the unusable items rather than the default gray. I think it looks a lot better that way.
