1. okay, first of all, you will need to learn how to buy food CHEAP. seriously, this is the fundamental thing. buying food cheap and eating well to avoid freshers flu and other diseases thrown at you. second, you will need pans, mugs plates, cutlery, bring shopping with you, ENTERTAINMENT (if you do not bring some form of cd player, computer or laptop you're pretty fucked), alcohol is a must if you wish to be well acquainted with whoever you live with, oven gloves, a dustpan and brush, mop and mop bucket, toilet brush, TOWELS, lots of socks and underwear, condoms (i am not saying HEY GET LOTS OF SEX but should it happen (and if it doesnt happen at university it probably never will) you should definitely have protection. i know it sounds really fucking trivial but seriously do it. things to make your room more homely are nice (photos, posters, that sort of thing), coathangers (really important), cleaning products and stuff like that. you probably won't need all of that when you start but make sure you pick it up over the first term, you will need all of this.
2. university is simply amazing. not only is everyone in the same position as you so everyone is super nice, but you get thrown into essentially the ADULT WORLD. you become completely independent and its great. you will meet amazing people, do some crazy shit, become properly educated, and have a fucking ball. i can't describe it, it really is something you have to experience.
3. i'm not sure on this one. i'm doing games design which i think is pretty similar and it's good. bear in mind that the first year is pretty pointless, and will be VERY SLOW (people come onto this course from a lot of different backgrounds so they have to get everyone up to the same level). but yeah, it depends where you go really.
4. expect to be poor. expect problems with your housing/flat, and expect to be woken up at 4am by a group of loud drunks who will probably decimate your halls.
5. put powder/tablets into the designated slot, set to 30/40, press start. simple.
6. i don't understand this question. if you mean support at uni it depends where you go. if you mean students then noone spends much time in university except for lectures, seminars and if they need to use the library.
7. depends what sort of look you go for. brands aren't popular, but certain looks are. a lot of students go for the h&m, primark, topman range, but charity shops are also excellent, and remember, cheap clothes are the in thing at uni.
8. take something you have multiplayer games for. those are the best consoles. we have a ps2 just for this.
9. hahahahahahahahaha no. your parents tv license will probably cover you (unless you reach a certain age) but noone cares about tv licensing really.
hope i helped.
