Baltar has a propensity for waking into trouble and stirring it up further. You can bet that he'll be involved in the Zarek-Gaeta uprising in some way.

That was an awesome episode.  I never thought we'd see Gaeta this way.

EPIC

I completely agree...
I didn't see this episode before now because I heard somewhere that the creator suggested recording all the last couple of episodes and watching them in a row. Now I almost wish I had because the suspense is killing me...

Oh man this episode was everything I love about BSG.

Tonight's episode - great! Laura's 'I'm coming for you' speech actually gave me chills. Awesome delivery. I'm glad that Zarek and Gaeta have been disposed of. Good riddance!

Indeed. I had tears in my eyes multiple times during this episode. I'm a bit of a sucker for civil war stories and I really liked how it all broke down in the end. Civil war stories are great because they're usually portrayed so that there are good people on both sides (brother vs brother syndrome). Somehow I really liked the scene with Chief because that was a great example of if.

It sort of sucks that it'll end soon. But if the run is this good then it's alright with me I guess. BSG will get a place there in my greats of TV SF together with B5...

Yeah seriously, remember they freed him from the PRISON SHIP in like the first episode and he's been nothing but trouble since then. I guess this s the first time he was outright treasonous though. good riddance......

The Roslin speech was actually a little corny I think. So was the Adama being shot in BALTAR'S DREAM, like it really seemed like they did just to go LOL FOOLED YA XD and so they could feature him in front of the firing squad for the little teaser after the intro. Still, I liked these two episodes overall. I thought the very end of this one was very well done. I wonder if Anders survived too, though I'm sure he did (I doubt they'll just start the next episode with LOL ANDERS DEAD BTW)

I didn't see it coming but it sort of makes sense. The final Cylon was going to be a letdown; we knew this. it's just that they DRAGGED IT OUT over five years so when you finally find out, it's going to be EH pretty much no matter what. Whoever they chose, you'd be mildly disappointed at the very least, because the big mystery is gone just like that.

So why not add a 13th that no one was expecting???? I guess Kara is probably the 13th then and they'll probably turn aroubnd and say SHES MARY and baltar is her son and he's jesus. Or something, these space operas always turn into a fucking bible story. This episode was good because they are finally just explaining shit. They guy that plays Cavil is a pretty good actor too and I'm glad to see him back in the show. Unfortunately it's convoluted as fuck and I don't know what the hell is going on because I haven't watched seasons 1-3 for over a year.

Yea I agree that it isn't bad that they added another, it could presumably be someone completely unknown. Also this episode made me not hate the 5th being Ellen, and the distinction between the 5 and 7 actually means something now which I like. Also Cavil's character has started making sense and even though he had some shitty dialog ("I want to be... a machine!!!"), things like his sarcastic religious views and tormenting the Chief early in the show have a place now. I'm actually pretty content with where it is now.

Also the fact that god has kind of been left up in the air is nice. The prospect of the 5th being god always seemed like bullshit to me.

It makes sense that there are 13 Cylons since there are 13 colonies...  wasn't it one Cylon per colony?

I had a hard time following what all was being said though.  A lot was revealed, and I don't know if I caught all the important stuff.

Also I look forward to the day that there is a space opera that isn't based on some kind of mythology.

I missed that about being an artist. But not because I'm a bad BSG fan. Also that doesn't really ruin anything for me I guess.

yeah the whole episode was basically FOUR CHUNKS OF 10 MINUTE EXPLANATIONS, it mad hard to follow it all. But we know Starbuck did a ton of painting back in her apartment on New Caprica. Hell, Starbuck was a guy in the old BSG, I know the two series are unrelated but it might explain why they decided to make him a her for the new series. If Starbuck ISN'T the 7 model, then how the fuck are they going to explain how she died and resurrected I wonder?????

I liked the parts with Chief and Adama going over the damage to the ship though, I always sort of wondered how Galactica, which they said was 50 years old at the point when they were DECOMISSIONING it, had managed to survive multiple encounters with Cylon baseships and all the other crazy shit that Adama has put it through over the last four seasons. Well, turns out the ship is about to fall apart. The uh... moderate attention to the logistics of space travel is what got me into BSG. The need to find food, water, fuel, and materials for repair are all things that BSG has touched on at various point, that most sci fi shows (Star Trek etc) rarely do.

Yeah, I like how the last episode touched on the idea that the ship itself is a character.  It's Adama's baby, and with it being so close to the end of the series, there's no way to know whether the ship is going to survive.

Did anyone else ever consider the possibility that the "dying leader" is not Roslin or Adama, but perhaps Galactica itself?
