I'm not denying that PeTA is horrible and I stated that I hate them earlier just pointing out that the Center for Consumer Freedom is pretty bad too.

Wow, that center for consumer freedom site is terrible. Their "About Us" page makes them seem like some freedom-protecting organization that advocates actual consumer rights and then the rest of their site talks almost exclusively condescends on anyone who thinks obesity is a problem.

That and I don't think I've ever seen an organization who tried to veil their intentions so thinly.

I guess they were trying to appeal to the audience at the superbowl. but this is dumb because as you pointed out (and I'm really surprised you're the first!) this is shooting your other, MUCH LARGER, audience, of WOMEN, right in the face.

what I expected and would have honestly loved to see was just the gayest add. dudes holding carrots between their groins, sponging off each other with broccoli in the shower. I'm not even kidding I think that would engender a lot of respect for PETA.
