why does this look good. are you guys seriously impressed by CLICK FAST gameply of one person versus three generic robots or something? I did not see anything that interested me and it's pretty clear GUESS WHAT they cut away the slow parts for the trailer so all the boring "scroll, choose action" stuff is gone.
what the hell are you all impressed by?
It's... a trailer. What are you expecting exactly? There's really not too much info on FF13 yet and we just know tidbits about the characters and the world. I like the fantasy/sci-fi setting and the world seems neat, I don't mind the character design as commercialized as it might be (it's always been this way by the way) and seriously, the cinematics look good and unless that's a bad thing, I wouldn't complain. The battle system seems very promising to me too and since I actually like Final Fantasy series, is there any reason for me to not look forward to FF13? I'm not going to say WOAH GREAT GAME because we really don't know almost anything about it but I'm just saying I'm looking forward to it and I am optimistic since I like FF series, liked FF12 a lot and this game has been years in development so it's bound to be polished and I'm hoping for a game with moderately large world to explore. Like maladroithim, one thing I like in RPG's is the exploring, micromanaging and such and Final Fantasy hasn't usually disappointed me when it comes to that. Well, FF10 was linear as fuck but it also had the best gameplay in the whole series. But the point is as far as trailers go, FF13 looks good to me. Lots of game trailers already make me feel like that the game is going to be boring or that the gameplay is going to suck but I can't say that about FF13. Given, it's mostly FMV we have seen but like I said, the battle system seems fast-paced and interesting as well.
I can't tell if 13's battle system is turned based or not but I hope it is.
It's turn based with some new ATB kind of thing, you have a certain amount of time to chain combos or something like that. The whole combo/air thing reminds me of what Xenosaga did and that was a neat idea.
The demo is coming out in April so we'll know more about the gameplay then, hopefully before. Too bad the demo probably won't make it outside Japan in a long time.
