You know I had early opinions on FF7 when I first played it (that it was great), and those have changed.  I guess you're right, I probably should wait a while to see what my real opinions are, because the longer I wait the worse FF tends to get.

Seriously, this looks fucking terrible, and 2-3 people confirming that it is indeed terrible is enough to me to not care about it.  I'll probably end up trying it out eventually though anyway because some of my friends are terrible man-children who latch on to shit like this and will probably insist that I play it.

Uh, I think I was pretty much saying that "play it and your opinion COULD change." Not sure how you assumed the other way.

If I ever did play this (no interest in doing so but maybe if there was a demo in walmart or gamestop or some shit I'd try it JUST FOR YOU) and it turned out to be the best game of my life, I'd be willing to admit it.  As far as what I know right now, it looks like absolute shit, the people who have played it says it is absolute shit, and the only people saying otherwise seem to only want it because it's Final Fantasy.  Now, what conclusion am I supposed to come to here?

Of course people are interested in it if they are a fans of the franchise. Just because its main attraction is "Final Fantasy characters fighting each other" and the majority who buys it are fans doesn't mean it's a bad game, and the only way to like it is to be a fan. By that logic all games (especially sequels) must be bad because only fans would buy it again.

I for one don't care at all if you intend to play it or not. I just think it's pretty strange to dislike a game so much without even playing it. You mention that the guys you listen to said it's shit and therefore it must be true. But you also keep saying that anyone who likes it "must be a fan and likes it for that reason" and therefore seem to think that his/hers opinion is invalid. You seem to accept the negative guys opinions because that's how you view the game yourself and totally reject any positive comments on the arguments I mentioned above. I might be wrong about that statement, but that's how it sounds.

Disliking the concept is fine by me though.
Anywho, I'm out. Stupid or not, opinions are opinions after all...

I thought I remembered like one or two animes though back when I did anime and a lot of the time they'd have completely inappropriate voices

My friend didn't believe that Square can make a fighting game but this game changed his opinion. Now he plays it like mad :/   So I guess you don't have to be a Final Fantasy fan to like this game.   I would love to try this game to but I don't have a PSP, heh.

This topic is supposed to help me by telling me exactly what I'm supposed to think of this game, but too many people are saying too many different things.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?! JUST TELL ME WHAT MY OPINION IS SUPPOSED TO BE ALREADY!!!

It's a button masher featuring final fantasy characters. When the fighters aren't flying around animeswordfighting or tossing glitter back and forth at each other the game pauses to either splash a random picture across the screen or to show you the super ultimate attack sequences.

It also has alternate costumes like SeeD Ball Squall, Advent Children Cloud, and (a nude) Super Saiyajin lvl 4 Zidane.

Play the game if this appeals to you.

If you guys really wanna know, just buy a PSP, hack it and then download the japanese version and play the damn thing already instead of bitching and telling everyone what your friends has said about the game.

Final Fantasy is seriously pissing me off. I know square enix named it final because they thought it would be there last and ironically it saved them, But I don't believe that story at all. I think they thought it would be funny as hell to annoy ME personally by putting final in it's name and making exactly 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (one quintillion) clones, which is slightly less then half of the episodes of Inuyasha.
