It's fucking awesome.

And man listening to ISIS reminded me of *shels. They were supposed to release an album in early 2008 or something WHERE THE FUCK IS IT.

I don't get what's so good about Amesoeurs but I suppose I'll give their album a try. I have their self titled ep and I thought it's decent but nothing special.

Also Afura dunno what to say, new ISIS is clearly better than In the Absence of Truth. I still like new Mastodon more tho.

Yeah, the new ISIS is pretty sweet. Much better than In the Absence of Truth, which was the album that got me into them in the first place, though I now prefer their older material.

Regarding Callisto's new album Providence, I preordered it and am satisfied with it. The clean vocals aren't bad, but sometimes they're just too abundant. There are instances where the music would be stronger on its own, but the vocals drags it down. Most notably on Covenant Colors, when they start with the distortion just before the harsh vocals kick in. That's a big difference from Noir, too much emphasis is placed on the vocals now.

I personally feel that ISIS have managed to get better with every album that they've released so far, and Wavering Radiant is pretty much this same pattern continued.  I really like the whole sound of the album, and the production of the album has been much improved over the really muddy and quiet ITAOT.

I really love Opeth, they're probably the only band I can listen to that has the death growl/cookie monster vocals or whatever without snapping my headphones in two. Can't really reccomend any other stuff though, Opeth are probably the only band i listen to who would be classed as metal.

http://blogs.creativeloafing.com/cribnotes/2009/03/18/interview-troy-sanders-of-mastodon/

Here's a cool interview on Mastodon and it explains why Crack the Skye is so much more melodic and mellow compared to their other stuff. Based on this, I think it's a pretty safe bet to say they might be releasing a new album next year already and that's cool although I'd love to hear more stuff like Crack the Skye since I think it's their best album and it's slowly becoming one of my favorite metal albums, actually. It's just fantastic. But if they can do more albums like Leviathan I'm not complaining.

also im listening to that amesoeurs ep again and i like it a lot more than i remembered!

Metals cool, I just can't stand constant "FUCK YOOOUUUU, SHIT, DIE, KILL, MAIM, BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" lyrics.

I found this one band called Iced Earth, I got hooked after listening to their Phantom of the Opera.

Yeah I noticed that too, but then again lots of metal bands make songs about old plays all the time, Phantom of the Opera is just one of the more well known ones.
