the new amoeseurs leaked like two weeks ago btw, I didn't listen but heard it was good.
I listened to it maybe 4 times now... The first time I was rather disappointed considering that their EP is my favorite EP of all time. By the second play through the album had grown on me. The album is very very solid but I was expecting much more female led songs and such. Also, I'm disappointed that Audrey doesn't scream more. The album is still really really really solid and I'm curious to see how most people are going to like it. I'll probably buy the CD when it comes out but I doubt I'll by the LP.
Also... you guys should check out Warning's Watching From A Distance. It's crushingly depressing traditional doom metal. Their first album was meh but this one is so good. Probably in my top 5 metal albums of all time.
Also, did any of you hear the new Wolves In The Throne Room yet? I only heard the new 12" and I loved it. I might buy it eventually.
In other news, Devin Towsend will release a 4 album series with different line-ups. It sounds rather exciting and the guy has made some pretty solid music in the past.
VARG IS GETTING OUT OF JAIL. So now all Burzum fanboys can rejoice
Other metal albums you guys should check out:
Shape of Despair - Angels of Distress: very beautiful funeral doom that's easily accessible. It's not like the extremely esoteric bands that only 20 people in the whole world like.
Somnium Mortuum - Eternal Sleep: this is a slow symphonic / ambient metal album but it's really good. You guys might have trouble finding it though. It's mostly instrumental but I loved the project. Too bad there's only one album.
Svafnir - The Heathen Chapters: This is pagan "metal" even though it's much loser to folk. I normally despise everything that is branded as "pagan" or viking since most bands are just riding the bandwagon. I mean come on... a mexican viking metal band? The album is just full of really beautiful acoustic songs.
