gw meet nc: steel literally battles deadly cancer without knowing it, despite the trip failing in every way.
gw meet argentina: shepperd and gazzwa basically destroy a country.

yeah we've got a step up high five non-canada america.

no its just...

okay i've said this before but why do you guys idk...plan to do some of this stuff? baseball? camping? you aren't DADS chaperoning kids. you are the kids!

I'm not saying GO DO BLOW AND THIZ OUT or anything. I would actually never do this with any gw member probably. I didn't even want to get high with chef (we now know this could have been a disaster so wow) and didn't. but at the same time I see you guys planning things and it feels so...chuck e. cheese.

like I know I'm going to go to the beach with some friends at some point soon. we have no plans for when we get there. the last time we went to the beach we got lost and wandered into a redneck bar and made some real memories, then we ran into old dudes who taught us all about shark tooth trawling, and then we got lost in the middle of the world's creepiest college campus (no one was there...but school was in session. they would watch us from windows).

and this was just three guys who literally got up and said lets do it with no planning. and i refuse to think i am exemplary in thinking this just has more to do with having a good time than thinking "9:30 we wake up and go to the lake! sarevok makes a sand angel"

i mean whatever floats your boat but some of you spend HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS on this and I just can't shake the feeling it's like a middle school band trip sans the fingering in the back because there's such a complete lack of real spontaneity about it.

I think this Toronto Meet is going to be a little more spontaneous as we still don't really have any idea of what exactly we'll be doing when we get there.  Apart from that I guess it's just different ways of having fun, whether it's planned, left to the last minute, or just not planned at all.

Edit: as for the planning of these meets, the first few weren't planned at all and we basically sat around at my house and did nothing.  Only recently have I started planning stuff for us to do and it works out a lot better, at least in my eyes, when we've got stuff to do instead of nothing planned.  I'm not a very spontaneous person so that has almost everything to do with it, but I'm also the one that usually hosts these things so there's that as well.  Also the lame answer is that there's nothing much to spontaneously do in London, Ontario, but I'm sure there is so that's a lie.

like i'm sorry mamamack i mean you even have MAMA in your name and you actually posted

and then somehow asked about the nightlife as if you can do anything at night without running into a skuzzball or rather that you'd want to!

steamwhistle tours? come on guys :( it shouldn't be FAMILY VACATION BUT WITH NERDS is all I'm saying. you get so few chances in life to experience something LIKE THIS. by the time you have kids maybe internet meets will be just a thing but you are literally pioneering something that has hitherto been defined by 4chan scientology meets and goon camp and it's disheartening to see it just be Bob Saget Takes Gaming World.

plan on having a little bit of chaos.

this is all two cents though.

i'd buy this except some of the suggestions sound like they are just going to come up again and when you're like LETS VISIT A TOWER even as a non-plan it feels very touristy and not very FUN TIMES.

i should apologize though this is definitely relevant to a specific type of person and not to another. basically if you think you'd REALLY ENJOY a bus tour of hawaii or something ignore everything I said. you aren't even a bad/boring person it is just one type of traveler vs another and if you know panda and I are basically planning to be complete dumbasses and wander into the wild in like a years time with a suitcase full of junk on a motorcycle so this shows the difference.

Obvious answer is we're all boring internet nerds with no imagination when it comes to doing random things.  I think that was pretty much proven during the first few GW Ontario meets.  However, that's a pretty bad reason to give.  I'd say it has something to do with the number of people that we get out at these (generally more than ten) and I would say it's a LOT easier to do something on the spot with just two or three people when compared to a group of twelve that don't all know each other that well.

But you do make a good point, that being we seem pretty boring when all we do is post pictures and vids of Rock Band, Bowling, Beach, Ice Cream Parlour, etc.

We are staying overnight in Toronto (a few of us at least) so there's the opportunity for spontaneity once the evening starts, or even before then, as we won't have to worry about leaving at 8pm.  Personally I'd be down for just wandering around Toronto for a while but I can't shake the feeling that I wouldn't accomplish as much if I didn't have some clear destinations in mind, regardless of what I was planning on doing at them.

Full of faces
Some laugh some salivate
Whats in your alleyway
Recycling bins or bullet cases
Its not equal
Its not fair
Were different people
But were not scared
We aint never scared
To pave a new path
Make a new street

i like how you consistently blow and when i refer to people who love chuck e cheese shit i'm talking about you because you are the least most exciting person i could even make up and a woman named MOM is more receptive to having fun than you are.

whoa cool how two people can say things but one can fucking own now go fake larp something instead of ever talking about me ever again because you are so goddam banal i can't even get worked up at you.

I just booked the hotel.  We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express.

I'm thinking it might be a better idea for everyone to meet up at the hotel to start, and then we can head to the dumpling house from there.  I have a feeling that the three of us out-of-towners would get lost on the transit and be really late getting to the dumpling house.

Edit: Just looked at the location and I have no idea where that is in relation to anything else, heh.

Final plans are that Mamamack, dx, myself and possibly a mystery fourth person will be arriving at the Holiday Inn Express on Lombard around maybe 1pm or so, give or take the traffic problems, etc.  We can set a meet time for everyone to be at the hotel, we'll leave our room number or whatever at the front desk, and when everyone is there, we'll head out to the dumpling place and kensignton market I guess and then the island or wherever else from there.

As for the meet time at the hotel let's say if everyone could be there by 2pm, unless you hear from us otherwise.  Also if people could pm me their cell/phone numbers so that we can call you if we're stuck in a traffic jam or whatever.

If anyone else thinks of anything just let me know.

If anyone wants my cell phone I will happily PM it - I'm on Telus so I also have the mike phone. However, I cannot receive or send text messages so don't try it, please.

Speaking of PMs: dx, dude, you need to give me your address so I can pick you up after I play on Monday. Please and thanks.
Check it out! I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year!

Yeah, but once I'm on a Go train I just compulsively get off at Union.
