finally got skyrim the other week, coincided with a lull of shifts at work so ive played it quite a bit...
gave up on my first character 35 hours into it, she just got boring
36 hours into my current one, she's cool, imperial, take no shit, not even bothered to go see the greybeards yet.

trying to balance between playing the game and roleplaying the game. Blegh. It's fun.

literally all i did in this game was roleplay it.  i did almost none of the quest and did not fight a single dragon.  i basically just played it as a SURVIVAL/ADVENTURE SIMULATOR

that's what I did with fallout3/nv, and what I'll end up doing after finishing skyrim. Especially with the shitty house building dlc :D

I played skyrim solid for about 2 weeks, til 4am every day with work in the morning, but now if I try to play I am struck with an incapacitating boredom.

I tend to play the Elder Scrolls games once, all the way through with a near completion attitude.

Basically I play them (Open world games with a storyline) like linear games. :P

I mention again that this made Borderlands really boring for me because I was always over-leveled. So when I do eventually play Borderlands 2 I'm sticking to the main quest almost exclusively, only playing the side quests if I find an actual need.

I use to find myself always getting dragged into those side quests and feeling crappy about the game because of how generic and repetitive they were. This was the case with Borderlands, Skyrim and Fallout. When I'd eventually find my way back onto the main quest, I just wouldnt want to play anymore until I worked up the willpower a few days later only to be caught in the same cycle.

I actually pretty much felt that the first Borderlands was pretty shallow mechanically. And I ended up doing side quests when I should not have because it made the game boringly easy. I went in with a completionist attitude which ruined the game for me.

The first Borderland was easy all together but this one is a lot harder.  Sadly yes it gets boring. I feel the weapons are not as crazy as the first game.
Also on the harder bosses I found cheep ways to make them easy regardless. I think 2 of the hardest classes to be are the Assassin and Siren (Siren is not overpowered like the first game)

Spoiler

Why is Angle a human and Siren? In the first game we established that she was AI and she was really was the satellite and another story flaw is why is the new-U stations (owned and operated by Hyperion) bring you back to life when your going against Hyperion. Maybe they should of put a different company behind New-U Stations.

i believe the saying goes "when we hang the capitalists, they will sell us the rope"

although i seriously doubt anybody had put that much thought into it.

anyway, i finished borderlands 2 and didn't wait until the credits had finished running before listing it on ebay. it's just a terrible goddamn game. unusually terrible, possibly the worst-written videogame i've ever played. i would say it rivals people like dane cook and carlos mencia in the TOTAL FAILURE TO BE FUNNY ON ANY LEVEL DESPITE TRYING REALLY HARD department.

Well it's not as bad as you make it as, it not a good game by all means, it's just a time killer and at least I can grind my badass tokens till the ice age.

learning to play ultima 4 on dosbox on android ( l o l).. it's p fun except i keep having to cover up half the screen with a lil keyboard and u know how it is with giant transparent arrows over the whole game and everything.
not playing it but I cannot escape borderlands,, had friends who basically played the first one all summer in preparation for the 2nd one and now i'm back in college and there's that darn claptrap voice in the other room.  strikes me as like a pure utility game.. strictly 4 the shooter fans, the looting fans, the point of the game is to get better guns and the story is there for cohesion, "humors" there for sake of clouding this, to charm.handsome jack (a rich enemy of you) raps about a horse made of diamonds in a fashion similar to exaggerating video game reviews and 'that' kind of ... humorless nervouss nonhumor. . . "hehe i'm so rich i bought a gun that will kill you from here. & i'm in timbuktu! cause i payed to go there. " i played it for a while and mostly kind of caught up with this other guy who was systematically going through camps and killing everybody and doing missions and shit, I guess he already had the system down. I mean i could see myself getting all hooked on the missions and etc but i really don't want to do that, sounds pretty torturous. .

Been playing Torchlight 2, Guild Wars 2, DotA 2, and competitive Team Fortress 2.

Nothing coming out really interests me that much tho.

shit. I'm invincible in Oblivion now. Except against arrows and poison. 100% magic resistance and 100% Reflect [melee] damage.

Game has become too easy now but I still want to play through some quests and don't want to start over.

I traded in skyrim and mass effect 3, two really boring games, for catherine and saints row the third. i am fully expecting catherine to be awful but i'm curious about in exactly what kind of ways (although the broad strokes are obvious) and i heard saints row the third was supposed to be good or something so i figured i'd give it a shot since i like open world games set in cities. i wanted to get silent hill downpour but the place didn't have it so i guess i'll get that one in a few months.

I'll be back with harsh take no prisoners crits, motherfuckers

Catherine is a good game and a good story but it fault is it gets hard fast and you will stop playing it or do what I did and look up a guild. I beat the game a few times. it has mild replayability for other story branches there 6 or so different ending but there are only 3 true ending (since the others are more like falling short)

Does Saint's Row 3 have co-op? Like, can you play multiplayer that isn't just deathmatch or something?
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?
