Hero Bash: Was that contest Ludum Dare by chance?

There were a few of us chatting about it on the IRC during the time of the contest, so I assumed that there would be quite a few new posts in this topic over the next 48 hours, but it seems that was not the case.


This is the game I ended up making. I was able to submit on time and all (courtesy of FlashPunk tutorials), but I'm posting here because I still consider it mostly incomplete.

Anyway, I was aware of Ludum Dare and I wasn't quite sure if it was alright to submit games made with 'game makers'. Most of what I see are hard coded or at least coded with libraries on 'real' programming languages.

Really? I've seen a lot of Game Maker entries and some Unity here or there. Lots of flash games as well. I don't think there are any restrictions on what programming language or game making software you use to make the game.

No I know there's no restrictions but I thought it goes without saying. But anyway seems like I was wrong, so some do use GM to make the games.

Looks mediocre

Do you only have three hearts available to you the entire duration of the game?

I only ask because they look like something you would get more of as the game progresses.

The presentation of the screenshots took more time than the actual screens

I would play Logan's Adventure. I don't care what these guys say, it's better than 99% of the crap people post on here like racist "games" that look like they're put together by mentally incompetent dickless six year old's who were touched too much by their hateful, incest loving, pedophile, redneck fathers. Plus it reminds me of a 2 day game I made back in the day (it was buggy as hell.)

I would also like to point out that "it looks mediocre" is a pretty mediocre comment in itself, offering no actual constructive criticism. It is made extra mediocre when placed in a screenshot thread with no screenshot. Try being constructive, like Mr Big T, and be specific.
