a bird knight guy. helmet and spear and cape made seperately, textured by messing with the texture paint thing in blender which was handier than i thought!

it might be just me but those textures look a lot better than the uv mapped ones, they seem to fit the objects better perhaps? i dunno. good work though.

i think it's because you can use opacity layers etc in blender's texture paint, so it doesn't have that flat effect that you get by doing everything with mspaint filltool.

unfortunately i couldn't get texture paint to work properly again so here's a cubeish pugdog done the old way.

edit: the textures a bit wonky because i altered the mesh after uv mapping it

continuing the dog theme i made a murderdog. actually i made a murderdog for my first ever textured model so i wanted to see if i could do better now. to be honest i kind of prefer the cruder original model! is this what 'selling out' feels like.........

and my first attempt

Made a moonbase thingy. The real point was to see if there was a way of getting tiled textures in wings. It turns out that there is! if you add an image and then use the "snap image" function to attach it to selected tiles. I still need practice with it but it's p fun to use at any rate and exponentually faster than uv maps. I think you could probably get good "n64like" models if you skip uv mapping entirely and just use vertex painting with some snapimaged decals (wasnt this how link was in OoT).

anyway once i finished texturing the moonbase i got lazy and just did a vertex paint on the moon house oh well

ps yeah idk how theres a wooden bridge on the moon either!! its a ~mystery~

Fucking rules.

There's wood on the moon but you have to drill to get at it.

yeah, i've been watching a lot of tutorial vids over the last two days and can do stuff like get cameras to follow objects and attach scripts for things like jumping / movement / projectile systems etc. i'm hoping to get a short game done by mid-april featuring the gem dog as the main character. if i can work out animations and stuff then i'll try for a platformish thing, otherwise i'll just lodge a camera behind the model's head and use it as the gun object thing for a fps. i could be underestimating how much work everything will take but at least i'm getting my head around the general framework for everything if not the specifics of all the javascripting etc.
