Staff forum in-joke by gz that became an actual Thing after it was decided that we don't really have much to do with gaming anymore, so we need a more neutral name. It was voted on by the members.

was that ever voted on? i thought we had like 175 different suggestions but like two people said saltw so we just went with that?

i mainly ask because i remember we had this topic and i had some AWESOME SUGGESTIONS that i wanted to spam inappropriately in the other topic, but i couldn't find the topic and now i'm just humiliating myself as my early onset dementia is revealed aaaaaaaaa

also yeah we did vote on the name, but idk which topic it was in because there were like a thousand topics about this.  i think there was actually more than one poll even.

There was a poll with a few "final" suggestions that people liked the most I think, based on nominations. I actually spent quite a few posts trying to convince people to just keep Gaming World or to go with something I suggested. Then I think there were some complaints(mostly from me) about missing poll options and a new one was started later on. It was a pretty messy business.

a lot of people were suggesting names that had something to do with slugs, toads, dog barks, puke/cuts, puss, moss, and slime mold but all of those suggestions were taken as jokes for some reason

we just weren't ready to visit the Slime Zone just yet. the time wasn't right.

i just bought my first model train...i don't have the money for tracks yet tho lol...but i found a bullet train on ebay for a significantly reduced price (because it was run once and the guy was taking best offers) so i couldn't wait around until i had the money for everything at once

once i get the track and train sorted out it'll be time to start building GHOST ZONE...

Yeah, definitely. The kid was playing off of somebody experiencing a rational fear. The other day I was walking alone at night and I really thought this creepy looking guy was following me as he was walking pretty close behind me and was taking the same shortcuts that I was, and I got freaked out. It turned out he was just going in a similar direction but it was still enough to get my heart pounding. The fact that someone would intentionally play off of somebody thinking they're being followed just to freak them out is a really shitty and sort of antisocial thing to do. I was just saying that his justification of "You think I'm dangerous?! That offends me so I'm going to try to freak you out and prove you right!" was stupid and is devoid of any sort of logic.

more people should be like me and feel super awkward if they've been walking behind a stranger for more than a block.

I like to think that people in general feel this way, because a lot of people I've talked to have agreed with this sentiment, but then I remember that there is an internet full of people who think that the kid handled that situation correctly and didn't even bother to consider that he was more likely projecting his own insecurities onto the woman.
