i'm not sure if this converts them to txt format, but ogmo editor is pretty sweet.
 
Well I know Tiled Map Editor can export to .txt and if they doesn't work I think ogmo may? At least I think it can export as a .xml file.
 
thanx "2" u "2"... i ended up using Tiled, i don't think ogmo can do plaintext.
 
I got my story all figured out, and since my thing's basically like a vine but with AGS, now all I gotta do is draw all the pictures.  but my perfectionism's killin me here, I hope I can get everything drawn before the weekend so's I can have at least SAT and SUN to figure out how to make the magic happen with AGS...

oh yipes I meant twine not vine ahaha whoopsie, it is basically a bunch a little scenes and vignettes that you navigate through w/commands
 
that accident, though... a vine AGS game... hmm.  no  time for this jam, but maybe... Future...              :fogethmm:

So far Team Tonka Truck has some pretty gnarly chipsets, a pretty solid soundtrack, and some tubular ideas. We will start RPG Makering soonishly.

been doing alot of work.  I won't be able to jam friday, saturday, or sunday, so I'll have to be done and have to hand in my game by friday MORNING.  Been programming and pixelling and sampling for hours and hours straight.  ( , ) (.) my eyes hurt :fogetcrazy:

but there's controller support and resolution scaling and things to bump into and oddly proportioned man-things.

Wow these are all looking so impressive! I'm really hoping mine can keep up!
This is the first timed competition I've ever done (I started one or two others but never got significantly into the game) and it really looks like you'll all outdo me. Hopefully "Cactus City Road" proves to be fun!
I was also forced to learn AS3 for this (thanks to CC!), so I've been googling like crazy to relearn everything I used to use in AS2. It's working out though! You guys seem like a great community, this is already fun and we haven't even gotten our hands on eachother's games.

I think that if you know you're not gonna make the deadline, but you LIKE your idea - keep that fire burning and keep posting to this thread. For those who behave in such a way there may even be a surprise reward!!!!???

Voting will not begin until enough time has passed to allow people to play the games so your official submissions will be downloadable from itch.io but there's nothing stopping you from drop boxing new builds and posting them in this thread. You're growing prize fruit right now but some of you might bake it into a tasty pie.

What I'm seeing pleases me greatly!

I'm going to finish mine in time I think, but I'm going to keep expanding it probably.  ...can I keep the dev posts going?

Yeah no, I am almost certain there will be builds of my game outside of the game I submit. The trick is figuring out which order to put doing things so that the most essential game-centric stuff is getting done first. Right now I am hoping that I can get a fully functional rudimentary engine complete on friday so that I can spend the whole day Saturday setting up sound effects and putting on polish.
 
I already got a good idea of what kind of game I want this to be when made in a week, but I could spend a week just thinking about what kind of game I could turn it into while allowing myself any deadline I wish.

Okay I think I'm almost done being sick. It looks like everyone else is doing well except for the others who are ill. I hope everyone gets better. I'm probably not going to finish this in two days seeing as I need to catch up on some contracted work. I like my idea tho so imma work on it here and there.

If enough people like what I will release then I might work on it and expand/polish. I got lots of ideas that were scrapped to make the deadline. I learned a lot and now getting better at the process though.
