even if they will be in the game (sonic's possible, I really doubt megaman will be in it) it's not something they'd release right now in a regular update. it's either going to be pretty big news that makes a huge impact or it'll be a secret until the game is released

On a side note, Sakurai said that since everyone will already know most of the secrets of Brawl the day after it comes out, he'd go ahead and reveal a ton of information before Brawl is released. So if Sonic is in the game, I doubt they'd have some special event just to announce him since it'd probably cost more than it'd be worth. Maybe they'll make a video to announce him or something along those lines (like they did with Snake in that one trailer), but they aren't going to go out of their way to announce a third party character. They didn't do it with Snake and they won't do it with Sonic. He'll most likely end up being a regular update.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Sonic baddies turn out to be a part of the adventure plot, as I wouldn't be surprised if Dede or K. Rool were. That being said, some of the baddies do suspiciously look like MM/Sonic influenced grunts, but in the same breath the whole Emissary thing reeks with the stench of Heartless.

E3 already happened and there won't be another one until after Brawl is released. The only Brawl related announcement at E3 was the U.S. release date.

However, they did say that they'd host something for Smash shortly after E3.

"After we get back from E3, we'll look at the calendar and figure out the right time to do something very specific for Smash Bros. Brawl," added Llewelyn, who noted that there is no plan to release a new E3 2007 Brawl gameplay trailer, either.

Meta Knight isn't the bad guy actually, judging from Sakurai's little hints. For example, after revealing the Battleship Hallberd stage, he said:

It has arrived! The Battleship Halberd! It’s Meta Knight’s battleship...isn’t it?

That implies that it probably isn't under Meta Knight's control. Then after announcing Meta Knight as a playable character, he said:

It's Meta Knight, whose introduction was delayed for some reason. He's Kirby's...rival?

Which seems to imply that Meta Knight may not be Kirby's rival after all.

I say a few weeks after getting Brawl and unlocking most of the stages/characters and after getting used to the game, we hold an official GW Brawl tourney. Yay or nay
