Diddy's, Pikachu's, and Sonic's are all VERY DIFFERENT. Diddy flys around shooting peanuts, Pikachu is a hard-to-control ball that can go through obstacles, and Sonic is somewhat similar but he can't go through stages and the like. They're really not essentially the same at all.

Also, Eric,

Also Carius, I agree. I think it's cool how they're emphasizing that.

Alright, got 9 people signed up so far with a few maybes. If we can have friends participate, I can add another 5 people to the list. If not, then we'll stick with the 9 for now. Here's the list so far (I'll modify the list as more people join):

I think it should be with items as well, at least for the first tourney for the majority.

That's fine with me. So first tourney anything goes, second with tourney rules? Sound okay with everyone? I was thinking we have them pretty much back to back, with maybe a week in between. Let me know what you guys think.

Why are you doing sign ups now?  You should do it closer to the time of the tournament, and in its own topic.

I'm participating as well as soon as I get it. I'm in europe, but i can probably play within
a week of the american release. Also, is it possible to play online with two people on one
wii? If so, I'm signing up my melee partner as well.

Also, regaring someones final smash:

I want to get an idea of how many people will be participating. So many people post here and I've wondered how many of those people were actually planning on getting Brawl. It's just a running list. Nothing final.

Also, is it possible to play online with two people on onewii?

You can have up to three people on one Wii for online play, but that only applies to with anyone from what I know. I don't think you'll be able to do it like that with friends, which is what we'll be using. I'm lucky that I have another friend who's getting Brawl so I can have multiple people participate from my house if necessary.

Most likely, I will not be able to play in any kind of tournament for the first month after release. But around mid-april I'll be ready to kick ya'll's asses. :D

I wouldn't be able to play in a tournament until summertime (even if I did have the adapter I need to play Wii online at college, I don't have time and it would be slow as hell), and I don't even know if I'd be able to then because our internet speeds are throttled so bad here, which wouldn't be bad in casual games but I wouldn't want to suddenly lag or drop out of a fight in a tournament.

So uh put me down as an incredibly tentative maybe.

I don't know if this has been posted...
http://kotaku.com/351603/500000-copies-of-brawl-sell-in-one-day
Which is kind of expected, but yeah. Didn't mean to ruin this topic or anything with "omg sales lol".

Anyway, I'd be more than happy to participate in these tournaments. I wouldn't want it to start immediately after the release of the game, though. After a few weeks of practice, etc, sure.

I have Brawl preordered, but if too many crazy people buy them out before I can pick it up, then I might still have to wait a bit.

I also still need the online adaptor for the Wii, but that shouldn't be hard to come by.  I also have high-speed internet, so with a direct connection, online play should be smooth.

I'd love to participate in a GW tourney, both anything goes and tourney rules, but I think we should give it a week or two before we hold it so people can get a feel for the game (and unlock everything).

I'll play.

Also, CorporateGreed, where'd you hear that from? If it was from someone's earlier video they posted, it might just be because the person showing the FS's was not that great and didn't show off all the aspects of each one.

Nice. That's 15 people so far with only 3 maybes.

And yeah, I figured we'd give it 2 weeks to a month before the tourney starts. That'd be great for planning the tourney so we can have as many people sign up as possible.

EDIT: Video showing and the stage builder. Guess they weren't kidding when they said you can unlock stuff for the stage editor.

Alas, it seems i was wrong. I skimmed through the smashboards, but I guess I didn't
pay quite enough attention.

Yeah, I have entire week after the release day off from school, that would be a great time for me (I'm already itching for some SSBB action)
