I love how people think this is all Duke Nukem Forever has to offer. How can you get that from just a simple teaser? At least the people excited about this have a legitimate reason to be excited because this is the most media we've had in years and it shows that not only is the game still in development and not cancelled but also it's making progress.
Well for one thing:
"It turns out that several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party."
I kinda feel like these people, these several people who felt the need to work late nights and into the early morning, they probably could have been using their time to, say, work on the actual game. Focus some of that hard work and determination on, y'know, that game that's a
wee bit behind schedule.
Also, its kind of weird that they'd go through all that just for a party video, especially when the attendees would probably realize it looks shittier than what they've actually been working on. And then release it to the public, when you know the public already thinks of you either as a joke or are expecting this game to be the second coming, then claim it wasn't really meant for public consumption when everyone's like "Yeah, that pretty much sucked."
Then again, I'm not in the business, so what do I know? This seems like it could very well be a perfectly viable business strategy and not at all doomed to failure!
In conclusion: The reason people are hating on it is because the development team doesn't seem to know what its doing at all.
