the more i listen to it i cant help but feel plastic beach is really similar, conceptually, to the talking heads work on life during wartime....

in that it's a concept album, narrating some alternative worldview while juggling various themes and contemporary issues, e.g. (i.e.? which is it AAARRH) consumerism, pollution, etc.

albarn has said he doesnt want it to be percieved as a green album, but after two listens it's hard to argue a lot of those ideas arent present as a natural extension of the world view hes trying to express here.

im so stone

The vocals are pretty awful honestly, but the rest of this song is great.

man, agalloch has such good music, but their vocals are really just ridiculous.  I like the band and all, and I really like ashes against the grain, but the stuff before that album where the vocals were even less refined (especially the singing parts), are just awful to listen to for the most part.

wrong topic dude, book two also never mentions any of them again, i guess it all gets wrapped up somehow in the third
