no it has been going on since the late 1800's not thousands of years.
This is a pretty stupid thing to say just because you imagine you are somehow championing a cause by blaming the British for the situation in the Middle East. Yeah, they exacerbated everything, but the fucking
Romans complained about how hopeless the situation in the Middle East was when they first arrived (and later left).
Pretty much since the Hebrews escaped from Egypt they have been
fighting for a homeland in the Middle East. Most of that fighting stemmed from the fact that they (at a time when pretty much every town had its own religion and didn't really care what the next down over worshipped) went around telling everyone else they were wrong and their various religions sucked and that they'd burn in hell for being pagan idolaters. That's not a great way to fit in! Seriously, there was (in the ancient world) pretty much a different ethnic group every couple of feet in the Middle East and they all got along reasonably well (considering!) with each other. You don't think
maybe the anomaly is to blame, not everyone else?
Sure, it didn't help when Islam pretty much bowled everyone over and amalgamated every people from the Atlantic to the Hindu Kush (except the Hebrews of course!) but you've got to fogethmm when a single people have managed to be at war with their neighbours for literally their entire 3000 year plus existence.
The state of Israel was created and supported mostly because their were a lot of influential, wealthy, brilliant Jewish people in the right place at the right time, starting with Disraeli but reach far beyond. It's not that hard to understand. Without the support of other nations, modern logistics and weapons would have pretty much sealed the fate of the Middle East (maybe for the better, maybe not!). I'm not saying that
dem tricky jews are secretly working to defeat all comers, but they've historically (for a long, long time) been extremely belligerant and people who write off the Middle Eastern conflict as a result solely of meddling European powers are
dumb.
Also, yeah Palestinians attack Israel but it is a fight between kids with rocks and really angry soldiers with guns and lots and lot of bullets. Like, every metaphor you can think of for a mismatched fight applies to Palestine v. Israel. I don't know what kind of rockets they fired, but rockets can pretty much be anything from a bottle filled with gas to, like, the Triton II. Bear in mind that the Palestinians at
best have access to antiquated ex-Soviet ex-Jordanian (or likewise pseudo-friendly neighbour) equipment. Equipment so bad third world countries don't think it's worth keeping. Again, these Korean-war era (if they're lucky) weapons versus a country that has the atomic bomb.
