i watched an interview with the developers on youtube because it was the first result on youtube for 'prototype game' and it is clear they are really dumb and the short trailers are probably not going to be indicative of the final product. these guys were rone rivendale-level stupid. they were trying to apply 'these enemies wear gas masks' as some kind of major thematic thing about the INTRINSIC INHUMANITY OF MAN. i don't think they are very intelligent.
I had no idea who rone rivendale was so I looked it up... and BTW I still don't quite know who he is... other then "fan fiction writer" but that doesn't say much. I assume he has done something notably stupid.
I watched that same trailer and I have to ask, why specifically is their "masks make them less human, more creepy/evil" comment considered stupid?(1) do you consider it obvious? (2) Do you consider it flat out incorrect? (3) Do you consider it neither wrong nor right but something that doesn't need to be commented on or is unimportant?
If you answer is number 1, I say obvious things can be not so obvious to some people.... so they may need to be pointed out. I didn't need it pointed out... but some people may have.
If you answer is number 2, I disagree, masks can make one seem less human... it is a common practice to make "The bad guys" masked in some way. A La killzone.
If your answer is number 3, then I don't agree or disagree importance of the comment is subjective. Maybe you just think they were just coming up with random stuff to fill a couple of minutes of talking and should have come up with something better?
I'm pretty sure is is a relatively common trope... and tropes aren't necessarily a bad thing.
oh and don't just say "HOw can you not understand why it is stupid?!/?!?11"
