Indeed you did, sticking around UPRC?

No, I just like to poke my head in at random to see what's changed.

It's been a long time, but I still recognize a few names.  Marmot, Afura, ATARI, Mateui (holy crap!), Faust (awesome!), Dada, Kaworu, Hundley (I don't think we got along, but hello again!), and geodude are the names I remember from this topic alone.

Those are the easy names. I only visit extremely infrequently now, and I don't remember who anyone is supposed to be anymore. I remember one Halloween where Drule (I think) changed a bunch of usernames, and the trend of changing names frequently became pretty common after that. I couldn't remember who was who when I was active, and now that I'm inactive here it's an uphill battle to remember who anyone is if they've ever changed their names.

I played this for a bit, but I never finished it. Dreamfall is indeed a very good game.

Why do you post these topics here instead of places like RMN or RRR?

If a shitty game like Inversion (sorry to anyone who likes it) can get on Steam, then this game should be a shoe in since it looks better in every possible way.

Back when I felt like doing this, I visited whatever IRC channel it was that you guys suggested and it was pretty much dead so that kind of killed my motivation a bit.

Plus for some reason the lobby server didn't work after I installed Soldat again.

Just saying that I really support the idea of you guys thinking about bringing RMN members in on this too. Remember, a lot of us RMN folks are former longtime GW members.

I haven't played Soldat for probably four years now, but I've had a few thoughts about it on and off over the past few weeks, mostly about how great #gwsoldat was back in the day and how much fun the game was to play with you folks. Those were really good times. It was even mentioned at RMN recently that the old GWers were "crazy-good" at Soldat, so someone out there also remembers the good times.

Obviously #gwsoldat and the servers it ran off aren't around anymore (unless I am horribly oblivious to something) and a good chunk of the people who made #gwsoldat so much fun aren't here nowadays. Are there any other former #gwsoldat regulars still lurking around here who think it might be fun to wipe that layer of thick dust off of the game and give it another spin, if even only for one day?

Mostly I just think it could be fun to partake in something we used to do around here back in the day.

I regret not getting to know Steel on a personal level at all, but it's very nice to see that he continues to be remembered and brought up here.

I think about death a lot, probably a lot more than I should. It scares the bejesus out me, thinking about how I will just one day cease to exist, won't even have a conscious mind any longer (this concept is impossible for me to grasp and frightens me). Because of that it scares me to think "how do we possibly live on after death?" but then I see things like this birthday topic to one of our most notable members to ever grace the forums, and it makes me smile. I realize that this is how you live on after death, and this is what remembering people is all about.

Steel was pretty darn great, and so are you guys.

1. We need some new members
2. We need some actual content

Fix those two things and we'll be back on track.

3. The place needs a genuine purpose that doesn't take more than a year to even show signs of progress towards reaching said purpose.
