The game is being made in the "RpgToolKit". You can check it out at: http://rpgtoolkit.net/home/
I tried to play your demo more but between the slow walk speed of my character and having to strain my eyes to read the text in that tiny 320x240 window, I just gave up.
It's 2011, nobody wants to play an RPG where your guy crawls along--it's too boring/time consuming.
And with any game that uses text, if I can't expand the window size beyond 320 x 240, I don't bother playing it because the text is too small to comfortably read.
I do think that from little I played and what I saw watching the Youtube vids that this game has potential, but because of the flaws I already mentioned, most people will be dissuaded from playing your game.
Fix those flaws, then you'll draw more interest.
(also posted some comments on Youtube right after watching the video, but before I'd tried the game myself)
- Sometimes the battle hud vanishes (Rarely)
- Walking into solid object raises changes of a battle taking place (almost instantly)
A - Confirm- CHANGES -
S - Cancel/Back
ENTER - Menu
- Ryuu's overbreak : During battle, once the overbreak bar has filled, press the "right" key on the main battle menu to bring up the list of available overbreaks. So far, only Ryuu is able to use it, and only works on the enemy in slot 1.
- A few monsters have been added
- The zero damage bug has been fixed. Players will no longer deal zero damage to certain enemies.
- Updated special effects. Fire, Thunder and blizzard special effects now look a bit more flashy. On some computers, spell load times may be longer.
- Difficulty has been tweaked.
- Enemy slot system has been updated. When enemies are defeated, they move to the next available slot in the enemy target menu. Example: There are two monsters. If "monster 1" has been defeated, monster 2 will then move to "monster 1's" slot.
- When upgrading a stat, you are no longer sent back to the root of the level up menu.
@Montai: Graphical style looks great, just wondering is that a battle screen where the three characters are standing in front of the monster because there isn't any HP bars or gauges.
TFT: Are you the same person who posted those screenshots with RIDICULOUS-looking clown-monster portraits? Those were sweet.
I ask because the style seems to be fairly consistent with the portraits I'm seeing in those screenshots, which look awesome. I was referring to the portraits specifically in that sentence, but the screenshots themselves look awesome as well.
