it's called ability to laugh about oneself. A woman/gay/black with a sense of humour and relaxed perception of society can have a laugh with that routine, because it addresses how ridiculous we are about taboo words and slurs. It's all in the mind
Louis CK isn't laughing at himself, because he's none of those things. There's nothing ridiculous about making slurs taboo. Slurs should not be said, they actually hurt people for real in real life. Stop pretending like they're basically swears. All in the mind? Ahahaha no way dude. Slurs are a reminder that hey, you're a second class citizen, gay person/trans person/black person/woman/etc. Slurs don't exist in a vacuum. But please, keep telling us about how none of it really matters, because it doesn't matter to
you. Why don't you listen to the people here who actually have been affected by these things, instead of just assuming that your one experience in life has told you everything you need to know about marginalized people. Go on Shepperd, tell me about how slurs towards me being a woman feels, because I certainly wouldn't know. Tell me how it feels to be called a dyke, instead of me telling you. Tell me about how I'm supposed to laugh at it because you think I should, after all it doesn't hurt you any.
